DDR3 speeds slower than some DDR2 benches?

This might be a noob question, lol, but why is this happening?, my ddr is DDR3 Ballistix Tracer 1333, 5gb, any ideas? :eek:

What's the max the ram can go? Try 1600 8-8-8-2x 1t

Latencies are what puts a play on the system performance, also the L3 cache level

Those sticks can do 1600mhz 7 7-7-21 just fine. 1400mhz 6 6-6-18 works better though. Make sure that your Northbridge is set to at least 2200mhz. 2600mhz would be ideal. If the NB is stock, you are bottlenecking the RAM bandwith.

Thank you. Thats what I was thinking of pulling timings down more but was unsure if the ram could handle those timings.

lotsss of great info :D :D, I will be going to bed soon, but am going to try this first thing in the morning. my NB has been 2000 every since i had the board i believe, maybe lower, lol, that is going up for sure, and timings going down :cool:

that is what I am getting now with the above info, I used 7 7 7 21, 1600, gave me the fastest speeds
not sure why it is saying 790gx, etc, etc, mine is 890gx, lol

You need an update to the latest Everest and also, overclock your northbridge a touch more. If it's currently at stock (2Ghz) then that's some good numbers.

Please please unleash that chip and overclock it's northbridge. Seeing 22k write on your L2 cache hurts my eyes. :p
