Following Intel's announcement of the new Atom N550 dual-core processor, Lenovo is one of the first to be out with an IdeaPad netbook model that makes use of it. The 1.50 GHz clocked Atom N550 is based on the second-generation Atom architecture. The new IdeaPad S10-3, is a 10.1 inch netbook with a display resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The Atom N550 processor is aided by 1 GB of DDR3 memory, 250 GB of storage; and connectivity that includes 10/100 Ethernet, WiFi b/g/n, a number of USB 2.0 ports, and Bluetooth 2.1. The only removable storage device is a 5-in-1 card reader, while a 1.3 megapixel camera decks up the screen. Windows 7 Starter is the OS installed. The IdeaPad S10-3 is expected to be priced under US $500.

I jjust bought a Lenovo Y560, which is a higher end model. I'm impressed with the build quality of Lenovo. It's simply the beefiest lappy I've ever owned. If this netbook is built with the same attention to quality and detail, is should be high on the list for potential netbook buyers.

a bit on the expensive side... and I'm guessing not even ION? just GMA? A SU3500 is better or equal to that atom, and an SU 2300 beats it by far

There is way more that goes into a laptop's quality than the processor and gpu. Unlike a desktop, you have to take the whole package. Overall build quality needs to be taken into consideration.

still, Lenovo, HP, and ASUS are all great in my experience. If you can get an Acer SU 2300 at under 500$ though, I find that a much better deal, even if it is only Acer.

Looks nice, with good keyboard and port layout. BUT big let down on the screen resolution. A premium laptop needs to deliver 1366x768 or better. And it really is time to start putting 2GB into nettops as a standard, esp. with D550 :shadedshu
