Maybe Nvidia are not to pleased the way Wizz benches Dirt2 in DX9 with DX11 cards and makes the fermi cards look like crap. Or they just don't have enough review samples to hand out.

Considering that all of the cards he tests were tested in DX9 your point is moot.

Lets see some more information on the 580. I want to see SOMETHING.

The default rendering path for Dirt2 is Dx11 when a DX11 card is detected, Dirt2 in DX11 runs far better on fermi than on AMD. Nvidia looking from the outside at the way Wizz edits a config file to force DX9 which runs better on AMD cards will feel they are being hard done by big time, because let's face it AMD can't compete with Nvidia in DX11. Every other review site reviews dirt2 in DX11 which is right when you're reviewing DX11 cards.

As you can see below in DX11 AMD cards get creamed, where's in Dx9 AMD cards have the advantage, I would be pissed if I was an Nvidia rep seeing that.

Funny...in the benches that W1zz runs cards on DiRT2 with DX9 enabled I see these numbers:

I don't see how you think that DX9 is hurting the performance of the GTX 480. W1zz provides an explanation as to why he didn't test in DX11 in the first place. Believe what you will, W1zz does NOT prefer one card manufacturer over the other.

And your point is? the TPU Dirt2 chart I posted is from the 6870 review " latest drivers ", you're posting PCI_E link width comparison charts " old drivers " lol.

lol they are DX11 cards, the game runs in DX11 by default, why would you run in old DX9 with a DX11 card, does it look like the fermi cards are struggling in DX11 to put out decent FPS. The point is the AMD cards are performing better than the Nvidia cards in DX9, a mode that you would just not use when running DX11 cards, by contrast Nvidia own in DX11 and that is not shown by TPU Dirt2 reviews.

Dont know about you but in the UK I dont touch amazon when it says that. It's crap at shipping items that are not released yet. You could order today and you'll not get any notification of when it's due in.

I don't see why you need to skip it?

Just wait a little while for W1z to review the ati and nvidia offerings and you'll be able to make an informed decision.

Or just wait until there's an acutal game out that you desperately need to play that requires such a card.

GTX 580 vs GTX 480

Here is a direct comparison between my GTX 480 and a GTX 580. The system specs are as follows.

Compared System:

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.2 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

My System:

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 760 @ 4.2 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480

So as you can see I have a CPU advantage. I tested my GTX 480 using stock clocks (700/1401/925) and an overclock to 863/1726/1000. The settings used in Heaven are as follows.

Now the performance results...

GTX 580

GTX 480

GTX 480 OC

Despite my CPU advantage the GTX 580 was able to pull slightly ahead against a stock GTX 480, but could not outperform my overclocked GTX 480.

They benched with an AMD CPU, fail right there.

The 580 needs to break 900 core easily and on air.

Regardless of the CPU used, for the Heaven benchmark the 580 is not impressive at all. Definitely doesn't deserve a "next-gen" name so far. This card should be sold as a GTX 480.

I think you meant "GTX485"? I think that would be a more appropriate name, certainly. The GTX 280/285 was this kind of product refinement.
