Attention NVIDIA AND AMD DirectX 11 GPU owners:

Inspired by a thread over at Xtremesystems.org...

Think your owning unigine heaven on extreme? Think again. This test is not for those of the faint of heart. You will prove yourself MEN though by taking this challenge.

Heres what you do:

Set tessellation to extreme, AA/AF to 8x/16x, resolution to 1680*1050
Start heaven
Before running the benchmark click "tessellation" and set Scale, Factor, and Distance all to 2.0
Run the benchmark

He who comes through this challenge with a average FPS over 30 can consider themselves a hero. Screenshots of your heroism is of course a must.

Please only post results that fit the criteria... mods, please delete any results that do not fit the criteria so as to keep things from getting confusing in this thread. :)

AMD owners: the 30 fps hero mark is attainable; it just might require some work. I wish I had another HD 5830 and a Crossfire motherboard so I could try with AMD GPUs...

Let's see what you got!

Nah! 30 FPS not possible with my GTX465 SLI Setup. Even overclocked.

I have to say Tessellation on Scale 2x looks not very pretty for me.

Ever notice something.. even if you set all of this to 2.0, running the benchmark would go back to the standard one..

In anycase, heres what I got @ 800 core, 2100 memory, a mild OC:

New chart:

NOTE: First place holder CraptacularOne told me via PM that he used optimized low image quality LOD and had texture filtering quality set to the lowest setting. Though I can't say this is really "cheating", it is highly likely that almost everyone else used either the Quality or Highest Quality setting.

If this bench is like the earlier ones, it hates cpu frequency...lower may net you higher scores. ;)

Uhmm, I guess I'm no hero.

But at least I have the fastest GTX 460 so far.

No cheating, cranked everything up to 2.0, etc etc

Suck it up i7's :rockout:

You forgot to set Tessellation (Scale, Factor, and Distance) to 2.0

Over 30 FPS with a GTS450? No way...

Helli

LOL. Nono! The 450 is my PHYSX card. Im running dual 460s. I also did set tessellation to 2.0 for all 3 as asked in 1st post.

Just from previous testing on the earlier versions of this benchmark I found that higher cpu frequencies more often than not hurt scores. There seems to be a sweet spot for each cpu.

Yeah i was wondering about that... I tried running my i7 920 form 3.2 to 3.8 (My normal CPU is RMA due to issues so using backup rig)(I havent used that CPU in a while so i was working my way up) And i got the highest score 30.6 with it at 3.4ghz... I was only getting 30.3 - 30.4 at 3.8ghz... Also the score did seem to vary on different runs with same settings. Maybe its due to VGA ram usage? I noticed that afterburner was telling me i was using over 1gig VGA ram in some parts...
