Yeah, everything 100% patched. I'll try it out tomorrow and then let you guys know how I get on. It could be my PSU or CPU dying on me, because I've never had crashes for the last few months, but I suspect the 1.06 patch did something bad...

Me too :)

Anyone tested the new EATM? "There are new ATI 6.12 Beta drivers out, which provides a new Anti-Aliasing (AA) method, similar to Adaptive Anti-Aliasing (AAA), but without the performance hit, called Alpha Coverage (EATM), which blends alpha textures.

does this sort of things: http://home.cogeco.ca/~dkozak1/obliv eatm.png

Trying to remember if there are any fences in BF2142, but seems like a great feature, maybe I have to just test them out myself :p

EDIT: seems like EATM is left out of official ones? EDIT2: it's there but hidden

Mine worked like a charm, installed on top of previous ones and no problems.

If anyone is intrested in synthetic performance with these:

x1900xt 6.7 621/720(1440) A64 HT254 2670mhz
3dmark06: 4668 (SM2.0: 2046 SM3.0: 2273 cpu: 1057)
3dmark05: 10631
3dmark03: 16805

x1900xt 6.12 ATT 621/720(1440) A64 HT254 2670mhz
3dmark06: 4682 (SM2.0: 2016 SM3.0: 2322 cpu: 1055)
3dmark05: 10466
3dmark03: 16733

Seems like SM2.0 performance is worse (like 3dmar03-05 shows) but SM3.0 is better and obviously more important one.

x1900xt 6.10 ATT 621/720(1440) A64 HT254 2670mhz
3dmark06: 4652 (SM2.0: 2040 SM3.0: 2265 cpu: 1053)

6.10 or the mighty 6.7 (haven't tested 6.11) is better solution for older games/cards, if you want best FPS possible, in my opinion :)

Just to let anyone who wanted to know how the new drivers got on with 2142 and the crashes I have reinstalled and I'm defragging at the moment but I won't have time to play for long enough to see any benefits tonight, so I'll try to post tomorrow afternoon.

I can answer the Battlefiel 2142 question, works fine, no crashes yet, but played only couple hours and CTD came only now and then.

Oh and EATM works great and looks sweet, keeping it on always from now on.

without:

with: (notice the same 78fps)

If you look at that right in the face leaf, you see a nice closeup in action. Will definately keep it on all the time. And if someone is missing how to do it with ATT, download this:

http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/233645/New_AA_and_AF_Methods.rar

"Unrar this file to C:\Program Files\Ray Adams\ATI Tray Tools\Database

It will replace your New AA and AF methods.dtb file this is normal.

Adjust accordingly to your drive lettering.

After you add this goto tweaks, and advanced tweaks and then New AA and AF Methods and enable EATM and AlphaSharpenMode."

Read Me (EATM + AlphaSharpenMode + ATI Tray Tools)

1) Download the latest ATi tools --->http://www.radeon2.ru/atitray/attsetup.exe

2) Download this ---> http://home.comcast.net/~kohan/New_AA_and_AF_Methods.rar

3) Extract and replace content in the folder --->\Program Files\Ray Adams\ATI Tray Tools\Database

4) Open ATi tools and goto tweaks, and advanced tweaks and then in the drop down bar "New AA and AF Methods", and enable EATM and AlphaSharpenMode...(make sure box is white and has a check mark).

5) apply>ok>enjoy!
