SLI if you are intending to use dual Geforces.
P45 if you will be overclocking.

I've had both and the P45 was my favourite. I could get a much better overclock and it was just a nicer board overall.

What processor is going in the board?

Normally I'd say the P45 will give you better overclocks, but with the P5Q SE2 I can't confidently say that. The reason being the extremely crappy 4-Phase CPU power. The P5N-D isn't much better as it has a 4-phase as well. So both boards are going to be pretty poor overclockers, especially if you are putting a quad-core in there or an older 65nm dual-core.

It is indeed an older 65nm CPU, possibly being upgraded. I've not really got many other options in the socket 775 range.

I think i should go with the P5N-D, atleast i can add another gpu later on.

Just going by the site you gave, your options are extremely limitted I can see.

I think the best option would actually the the Jetway board: http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=81_226&products_id=18155

It is more expensive than the P5N-D, but at least it has a 6-phase CPU power design and should give you the best overclocking results out of all the boards on that site. And it has two PCI-E slots so you can crossfire or SLi later on if you wish(SLi will require the SLi hack to work though).

P45. Without a doubt.

You can hack the board so it runs SLi remember.

Realize that the original P45 board he picked doesn't have a second PCI-e slot, so that point is kind of moot unless he goes with the board I suggested.

I'm going to give my opinion on the two chip-sets/ P45 vs 750i.

Between the two chip-sets Ive seen many performance differences between the to.

On my P45(ep45-ud3p) Ive accomplished many feats.
On my P45 Ive hit 548 fsb on a 45nm quad core.
On my P45 Ive run crossfire-X
On my P45 Ive run Hacked SLI Drivers with my previous GTX 260's, with Sli enabled and working(Fully stable for months.)
On my P45 Ive over-clocked at least 3 Chips (e5200/q9550/Pent D 630) past 4Ghz.
On my P45 I got my memory overclocked past 1200Mhz at many times.

On my Friends XFX 750i , he ran a q6600 quad core.
My Friends 750i Had a power on randomly shutting off issue.
My Friends 750i Couldn't go past 425 FSB
My Friends 750i Eventually Burned out
My Friends 750i Was way to hot
My Friends 750i Back USB port stoped working
My Friends 750i had to down-clock the ram to not bsod in any settings in windows.
My Friends 750i Actually never had a stable overclock, Bios updated didnt change a thing.
My Friend RMA'd the 750i for a refund and bought a monitor instead.
My Friends 750i Had trouble recognizing the hard-drive to boot from multiple times.

When it comes to Nvidia's chip-sets in general, they generally run REALLY hot, There really picky when it comes to types of ram, They cant overclock near any good as p45 chipsets, They have compatability issue's, They die on there users killing hardware, and they just arnt stable at most settings like P45's are.

From over 100 personal accounts on this forum, and at least 2 other forums. 750i/780i/790i chip-sets can be your worst enemy and ruin your dream plans with your gaming rig.

The P45 is a way better chipset overall. Offering stability, Reliability, and performance at a low cost. And just hack some Nvidia drivers and you can have your sli if you so really need it.

I'm not a fan of nvidia chipsets (despite having one myself :banghead:) so I say go P45. Then again, I'm not a fan of SLI either (or Xfire), so multiple GPU compatibility is a non-issue for me.

Thanks for all the input guys!

I came across & decided to order the ASUS P5QTD Turbo. Giving me the trustworthy P45 chipset as well as several other features.
