What is the best strategy game

its supcom in its raw form.


basically, had some far cooler shit, but buggier too.

EG, spiderbots that walked up and down cliffs with stun/EMP weapons. awesome in practice, shit when the stun failed to work for no reason.

i just hope that supreme commander 3 will be pc only so we can get back to the awesomeness of supcom 1/FA. SC2 isn't bad as a game, but if you compare it to SC1/FA it SUCKS. and TA seems fun. just watched a youtube vid.

look at how simplified it is, and it just screams starcraft with research on top. (EG: note how all aircraft move at the same speed now, each unit has one counter, etc etc) - TA and supcom was NOT rock paper scissors, it was amphibious rock vs hover paper vs shielded scissor tank.

it's a shame . chris taylor just turned his back to us, PC gamers (like most devs). how can you call supcom 2 a sequel of supcom 1 it should be otherwise. supcom 2 plays and looks like an older game than supcom 1/FA. sadness

Sins of a Solar Empire, Medieval 2/Empire Total War, Age of Empires (1) and Starcraft 1/2 are all good.

Oh Forgot to add, Another Good Game is Battle Realms Bit old Now But still good....

It would be foolish for the developers and publishers to only target the PC market.
To ignore the console market is to toss a buttload of revenue down the dumper.
Some call it greed, others call it good business sense.

What we need to do is to convince the developers that it is in their best interest to create seperate control schemes for the PC versions so we are not hamstrung by the console controller limitations.

Will they? Probably not. It's considerable extra coding and testing for limited return on investment.

Just some thoughts.

Totally Agree In Regards to Supreme commander 2, Totally Ruined Compared to the first one. Why did they ever Dump that Game down They had a great game and was on to something on the first one then they went back a step by the looks of it :shadedshu

Lol, Old game I remember seeing it In one of the Pc Gamer magazines and i had to have it Still got my Copy i bought On day of release along the the expansion Winter of the Wolf.

I always liked the Lotus Clan My Fav Was the Wolf though loved how the troops turned into Werewolfs...Lol

Dawn of war one was Ok but still a spam fest but with points to hold. Like an evolved Command and Conquer. Starcraft games are fun sometime especially SC2 but there is much strategy other than who can build the biggest force the quickest (normally ends up with an enemy with 100 of one unit lol) Company of heroes the strategy is perfect you cant kill a tank with machine guns ect.. and Dawn of war 2 is the same sorta strategy as Company of heroes but on a slightly smaller scale less vehicles and more troop / hero based.

galactic civ 2 is a classic and the mastor of orion games
but dont forget the old Black and white games they were good fun in there day

The thing that pretty much destroyed that game for me was the lack of information and status on the units. No hit points, no damage or anything (iirc). And some units where better in some ways, but there was no information about it in-game. Like the Dragon Clans spearmen had an attackin bonus when fighting uphill, but there was no info about it, or any way to tell really as you didn't know how much damage they did to wich units anyway. And that Sumo guy with a cannon did some funny dances when idling, that stuff made the workers walk/run faster, but it was only implied in the manual, nothing about it in-game.

In a game that was all about lesser units with more specialities that is a really bad thing imo. I couldn't stand it. Sad because it had so much promise.
