Wow... IMHO you have way more than you need.

I personally run an active AV and ccleaner occasionally, that's it.

If I happen to get a hint I have a virus, I re-setup my computer and call it a day, problem solved, no questions asked.

You have to be careful with registry "cleaners" a lot of them really screw some stuff up..

I used jv16 powertools but it was ages ago. Was free and easy to use, plus it could do other stuff too on your computer, like search for duplicate files, flush temporary folders. Was nice to play with. Never use these programs now though. If I happen to screw something up nowadays, I just nuke the computer!

This is an understatement. I worked for Microsft tech support for a while and I can safely say that 5-10% of the calls was about this. They got an ad (usually with a newspaper), installed the program (usually Uniblu) and the entire system crashed.

CCleaner makes a pretty decent job, but even that makes things worse sometimes. Make sure you set restoration points before running it.

Ya that's what I meant.

What do you mean feels choppy, post a screen shot of your running processes and fill in your system specs, maybe we can give you a hand. :toast:

i use Ccleaner plus wise registry cleaner, so far it helps me much to sweep registry
sometimes after i uninstall some program the registry key still left, so i erase manually, but for the complicated things i give it to them

If you wish to really clean try Comodo System cleaner.
It is free, thorough, and has a lot of useful functions.

Quote from Comodo web page:
"Comodo System-Cleaner is a file cleaner, disk registry cleaner, and privacy cleaner that includes our unique feature: SafeDelete™. With SafeDelete™, accidental deletions are a worry of the past."

Disclaimer: Use at your own risk... as, it is possible to screw up your OS with any cleaner; especially, when used by an un-trained user or someone who who fails to RTFM.

Happy Cleaning:)

wise registry cleaner (portable)

easy cleaner (portable)

also you can try reg organizer or auslogics. These two ain't freeware tho.

after cleaning reg you can also defragment it. unfortunately ccleaner doesn't have reg defrag utility
