tried single stick on each slot... even reseting cmost, jumper/battery out for 30mins etc. Going to a buddy house to test ram and mobo tomorrow since i don't have any extra hardware and home.

is it normal that a reputable brand like G.skil or Asrock die just after 5months of use? i mean i have 3 p4 rigs that are running w/o a single problem for 6 years..

its normal that some will die, yes.

whats not normal is that large amounts die.

if one in a million died, you could just be that unlucky 1 million... or maybe you sneezed and it dripped down onto something it shouldnt have, or a hundred other random coincidences that could have killed it.

This isn't a ram issue Hvale2k5. It's most likely something with the video card or board.
Good luck with your testing at your buddy's.

tested it today, it's PSU and Motherboard, somehow PSU causing my motherboard and my friend's board to fry....!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's so weird because all the fan+ports received power but our guess is something wrong with the 24&8 pin connector. Didn't expect something like this happen from Cosair at all!

OMG!! Sorry to hear that.
Everyone has different opinions on what manufacturer is 'the best' when it comes to PSU's and motherboards. From the people I've gotten opinions from most are the most confident in Antec power supplies, and Intel motherboards. So when I'm buying or building that's what I get.

I've gotten others for clients although I recommend antec and intel and unfortunately have had the same problems other people complain about. I also got a rosewell PSU once for myself because it was fancy (chrome) and had the features I wanted. I actually ordered 2 so I'd have a back up. Neither of them ever worked even right out of the box and why they didn't work stumped both myself and every tech I took it to to try and figure it out. I've heard people have had the same experiences with Cosair PSU's.

Get the stuff you know is good. Survey a bunch of geeks and guru's and see what the majority recommends. I recommend an Antec PSU.

corsair, enermax and seasonic are the 'big boys' - but that doesnt mean the odd one cant go bad.

for all we know, a large spider crawled into your PSU, got disintegrated by the fan and splattered everything causing a short.

its generally a silly idea to just blame the brand for one bad product, especially when it dies for no reason - there is ALWAYS a reason, and it may not be obvious.

dont forget to try and get a warranty on it.
