here are some first realy really legit review HD 6970 CF result

http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/9099/heaveny.png

and here are some single card result :

http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/9585/heaven.png

and this is the HD 6850 CF result :

http://i51.tinypic.com/2lu5aoj.jpg

wow its turn out HD 6970 will be head to head with GTX 580 its even faster than HD 6850 CF

here are some GTX 580 SLI :

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee12/markrochester/Capture3.jpg

source @ ocuk

Looks kinda promising and even more so as the 6970 single card result is at 1920x1200 and the 6870 crossfire is at 1920x1080 and the 6870 setup the CPU is almost 300mhz higher.

Sorry Wahdangun, it's not legit striclty as it's tested across different versions of Unigine.

I've read those forum posts and theres some contention about cpu's used and Unigine version. They may be legitimate numbers but they can't really be used for comparison.

Just be patient young jedi. W1zzard will deliver.

I'm always interested to know roughly how well a specific card is selling but, unless I'm not looking in the right place I can never seem to find any good info.

It looks like the 580gtx has probably sold a lot less since release than the 6970/50 will have in stock on launch, but its hard to know. Do you get 10 580gtx's in stock daily and had 1000 at launch, or did you have 100 at launch and get 10 a week?

We have sold over 300 cards which have shipped out the door. With orders still outstanding.

This from OcUK. Confirms suspicions that the 580 was a bit of a soft stool when talking about 'hard' launches. OcUK have 1000+ units of 6970 for release.

But i guess one thing to consider is around an extra months worth of production with the 69xx's although i would assume the 580 has been in production longer than the 69xx's.... hmmm.

Yeah, thats one suspicion for the delay - to let stock build up. Another issue with all the leaked benches is with drivers that don't support the powertune functions. Neliz (whoever the fook he is - ex MSI guy) suggests the powertune option allows power overclocking from -20% to +20% default. If this is true (and possibly is due to that little mysterious switch) then the pre release leaks may not be with powertune drivers supplied, so potentially a further 20% pump in performance.

I've bolded my post to stop twats having a go at it. It's obviously speculation :p

Hmm ... lots of ifs ... I can't stand it until tomorrow morning!
Were any of these tests done with the leaked 10.12 drivers?

btw to restore my mood :

I am gonna bench a pair of 6950's tomorrow as I think it could be like 58xx series all over again where 80% of customers buy a pair of the cheaper ones for Crossfire.

As a pair of 6950's will no doubt be sub £450 delivered and chances are a pair of them will smash a GTX 580, for what £50 more.

So I shall bench as if the 6970 clocking results anything go by the 6950 will do very well as it uses the same cooler and runs even cooler, plus a pair of them uses only circa 350W, yes a pair.

Can imagine it now if 6950's can hit 1000MHz and close towards 6000MHz as well, will be a stonking card considering its got more or less the same amount of shaders.

its a quote from Gibbo owner and admin of OCUK

:p

Thats what i hope will happen. Whatever that switch does its going to improve what we've seen in benchmarks but the question is by how much...

Its a good sign the stores have huge supplies, they obviously think they will sell like hotcakes.!!

:rockout: i would like to ask you something about power color cards please i got this one :
http://www.powercolor.com/global/products_features.asp?id=272

the card seems to be doing great but the fan speed never gose above
30 % while gaming or benchmarking with 3dmark vantage and temp
is stable at less than 75 c

but with kombustor the equation changes . the card would reach about
85c then the fan would move up to around 36% speed , and keep the gpu at
that temp (85)

i saw the other power cooler card reaching 83 c here :
http://www.guru3d.com/article/powercolor-radeon-6870-pcs-review/10

so am not so worried about the gpu , but i wounder why the fan wont go
any faster than 36% to cool the gpu line my ex 9800 card used to reach 70% fan speed its strange because the fan showed a somewhat intelligent response after passing 80c and went up and steady at 36 % speed .
am i ok ?

Anas, thats normal and nothing to worry about. Less fan speed is less noise and the temps are well within safe limits.

Games will never push the GPU as much as benchmarks so i wouldnt worry about it. If you want you can flash the bios to set your own fan profiles or use software like afterburner to set the fan how you want.

its seems that HD 69XX will be great overclocker and its seems HD 6950 can be clocked to HD 6970 performance easily

I just noticed they have both the 6950 and the 6970 on sale at this site I go to. Those prices are so cheap.

that's about $310 for the 6950 and $375 for the 6970. If I could see a review I would go buy one tomorrow!!!!

the Gibo guys from Ocuk said that he can OC his card to HD 6950 performance easy, without any voltage increase

so i think HD 6970 can be GTX 580 level performance too

and btw he said that HD 6950 will be priced LESS than $300 !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the 6950 is looking like it's going to be the best value to performance card out there, in the UK we're looking at £200-£225, it's basically the same card as the 6970 with a few less SPs, overclocked we could be looking at stock 580 performance in a number of games.

Great, numbers...but I think noone will put up the numebrs i want..numbers running Eyefinity. Very eager for 3.8ghz cpu numbers, too.
