Great, numbers...but I think noone will put up the numebrs i want..numbers running Eyefinity. Very eager for 3.8ghz cpu numbers, too.
the driver differs from the Unigine... 8.851 vs 8.790.. the Preview of new CCC has 8.801...

Doesn't matter, to me. I'm not interested in singlecard/single monitor performance. My 5870 is perfectly fine for me @ 2560x1600.

I mean really, these cards have 2GB of vram for a very specific reason, and I am very afraid I won't really see this highlighted...but..I already see many 8xAA benchmarks. Seems to highlight that 580 may be vram limited.

Anas, thats normal and nothing to worry about. Less fan speed is less noise and the temps are well within safe limits.

Games will never push the GPU as much as benchmarks so i wouldnt worry about it. If you want you can flash the bios to set your own fan profiles or use software like afterburner to set the fan how you want.

thanks , i dont really want to mess with that thing , i dont have enough skills
in that field . if power color made it that way , i dont mind at all. :nutkick:

I find it hard to believe that 6970 will sell for allmost half the price of gtx580, although I wouldn't mind!

The new drivers are much faster, but I did not get them in time. The new drivers basically mean a 6970 beats a GTX 580 in tessellation or at least is no longer chasing it.

Wait for reviews tomorrow guys, its a fantastic card for the money, but the GTX 580 does still have outright power, but it cost more.

For the same money I'd be bagging myself a pair of 6950's.

Haha you just beat me....
My only word's are
"I love competition"
If Fudzilla is right about the pricing (doubt it, but, always exists the first time), and the drivers offers the gains to put the 6950 vs 570, and the 6970 vs 580, then Nvidia is screwed... Imagine a 6950 CF for the price of a 580, and consume about 20% above the 580 power at default TDP (140w x 2)...
DAMN!
I need to say it...

Man 6970 with voltage control might be a dangerous card. The 6950 looks to be killer too.

opinions on these cards have be up and down so many times this past week or more, i so can't wait for them to be out to see what they can really do.

Also i really want to see the actual retail prices as if they are low enough i will make myself broke and shell out for one  if the 6970 is near £400 though i doubt i could make myself that broke

Agreed, and if you want 3 monitors the Nvidia option is much, much more expensive.

I hope no one bought a 580 in the last few days after seeing the early benchmarks.

Its looking better and better though, we didnt know AMD were holding on to the proper driver and we havent seen anyone use the turbocharged 2nd bios or high performance mode whatever it is.

Must admit i was starting to worry a few days ago.....

About the worry, me too... but today, some little bird told me, the real problem behind the change of launch date, was drivers... but R300 is coming back... and is coming Harder, Better, Faster & Stronger...

To be honest if all the numbers we have seen are not what they will do with the new drivers then i must admit i will be pretty impressed with the 69xx cards, right now they just seam acceptable for their position in the market.

Hopefully AMD releases some better drivers. Will the 6970 be their top card for now? That will not put a lot of pressure on the green camp, sadly.
