I calculated using this chart:

]

That's not calculating dude XD

Look at each game result instead, those overall performance graphs are useless

They're for at a glance looks at which cards are good buys essentially (It's card vs card, rather than a cards individual results it seems) working out the results yourself as well, after you've done them you can remove the games/benchmarks you find irrelevent to your use ( such as older titles/benches etc) and get a performance figure catered to what you'll be using the card for : ]

Hence me getting a 6870 for future crossfire fun! :D Removing the games I didn't play/wasnt interested in and the benchmarks it left me with an average scaling of 93% or something mad at HD resolution

If you check out crazyeyes 6970 review I done the individual scaling results for him there ( he edited his posts to include them now so easy to find) they're less impressive than 6870 but you can see there is some drivers issues with certain games/not compatible with crossfire or something.

Did you do the same for 5800 series, or any nVidia cards?

Not anywhere on the forum but I done 460 sli scaling which is also very good stuff.

I only done the 6xxx cards because the results were so obviously incorrect, I always read through each benchmark and ignore the graphs at the end ( cept noise and power) at a glance I knew a lot were scoring 90+ so I went and done the math :p lol ( wiz said his table or the thing he uses to average the performance went wrong for the crossfire results)

Well do the same math on the nvidia and 5800 series cards, and post your results here. It would settle the scaling debate once and for all. I'm too lazy. lol.

New Catalyst?

I think the 69xx cards have a huge potential with a new driver. When will the next version of Catalyst be released?

What kind of bullshit is that ? right and the 5xxxx cards went unanswered for how long ?

oh thats right, they didn't.

the 6xxxx cards were 2 different releases, TSMC screwed them on a node and the 68xx cards were refreshs and the 69xx cards were a pretty significant architectural change.

I mean its such a shame the the 69xx cards kick ass at high resolution. I mean what nvidia gonna do when they drop the dual gpu 6990 for the 580 price ?

BTW 580 is a nice card, but no reason to spout bullshit in a forum.

if anything the market is neck and neck with one always edging out the other, this round is a win for AMD/ATI on per/perf/watt and they will again have the single GPU crown with the 6990, nvidia can't compete with crossfire 6970's.

its such a shame that ATI/AMD just can't compete. tragic really.

Thank you! you said it.. takes ATI/AMD GPU's in CrossfireX to beat a single nVidia GPU.

..you said ... please refer to your comments " nvidia can't compete with crossfire 6970's. " also " the dual gpu 6990 for the 580 price ."

you are very contradictive !!!!
