I have been following this thing fairly close via ISM. This wheel is aimed at the hardcore sim market and this thing beats all wheels under $500 when it comes to force feedback strength, realism, response time, and precision steering. In these categories the thrustmaster is more in the league of hardcore sim hardware, not a competitor for G25/27 this is very much a step above.

When u compare the feature sets and hardware of lower end wheels (less than $400) to that of hardcore sim setups (more than $1500) you realize that the Thrustmaster is fairly priced for the performance you will get.

Not sure if it was mentioned but I thought it would be good info to have on the table..

* PS3+PC compatible (no 360)
* PC drivers still in the works
* No H-shifter in package (will be released "down the road") no price announced
* Extremely powerful forcefeedback (150 mNm torque, 3000 rpm, 65 W, 52mm)
* 30cm in diameter
* Resolution of 16 bits (65,536 values in the address)
* Rotation up to 1080º
* Easy pedal mods
* Pedals apparently not quite as realistic as Fanatec CLBS

If you are a hardcore sim driver or hardcore FFBW type of guy this wheel gets you as close to serious sim hardware performance for a fraction the typical price. I think there is a nice little niche market for this piece. For those looking at the Fanatec line-up this could be a nice little step up if you wanna bite the bullet.

I think I'd rather get a fanatec myself, mainly cause as pointed out better pedals. 1080 steering seems overkill. cars dont go past 900 last i checked. For racing you generally wont need more than 270, with some exceptions.

Thats probably how much those parts cost for a real racing car lol.

I literally just returned my GameStop Racing wheel back to Gamestop and got my $90 back. I'd much rather just sit back in my chair and race with a normal controller with $400 more in my pocket :)

Quick google and http://www.gamepod.co.uk/
Now that is grotesque.

The hell does that guy have a helmet for? I should slap him through it.

So you don't think that £450 is a bit extreme? How much do you think it cost to make?

it's extreme for me surely - but so is any more than $5,000 on ANY car.
it depends on what you enjoy and what you want out of life, there is no objective answer.

there are wheels that cost 3 or more times the cost of this - this is the cheapest high
quality wheel you can find. there actually is ALOT of tech and work put into making it worth it's tag.

again - to me it's not, but i can surely see how it is worth it to some.
and serious sim racers paying up, i can understand easily.

Actually most high quality belt-driven FF wheels are more expensive than that set with the wheel alone. Add a pedal will cost another 100 odd.

Considering cost of getting your car to a track, maintenance and life risks, racing sims are far better way to race with a "low" budget.

in the simracing video, they said, that the company said, that drivers will be coming. it will hook up and work now, but the drivers are needed for force feedback and accuracy.

Yeh, just watched that video from ISR, PC drivers are comming indeed. What i am most interested is the pedals - if they are better than those Fanatec Clubsport ones great, if not ill have to think a few times
