Patriot Memory displayed its latest line of consumer SSDs in the 2.5-inch form factor, the Patriot Wildfire. The SSD uses the latest SATA 6 Gb/s interface, and is available in capacities of 60 GB, 120 GB, and 240 GB. Wildfire could use any of the many SATA 6 Gb/s compliant SSD controllers out there, the most notable being SandForce SF-2582 and Marvell 9174, to provide transfer speeds in excess of 500 MB/s.

The fastest ssd's nowadays dont use SATA II right?

Sorry When I said Sata II i wanted to mean Sata III or 6 gb/s. I just saw the new ssd's from ocz and they are really fast but I dont know if its for the sata III or for the new controller, probably both

SATA III is 90% a new firmware. The connectors are exactly the same. Any HDD built for SATA III will work in older SATA connectors; however, if a SSD claims anything above 300 MB/s throughput will not get those numbers when connected to a SATA II. At best, the same drive will max out around 285 to 290 MB/s. This fact is the main reason most new drives say "maximum continuous throughput".....that and there are never any guarantees.
