I currently am building a new PC and am looking at getting an AMD athlon 64 around a 3200+. How far could i overclock it safely without running the risk of frying it? What hardware and software do i need to accomplish this task? :) :p

If you're getting a 3200+ on the Venice core, these babies have been reported to reach speeds up to 2.8Ghz!

Well, there's always a risk as overclocking by definition is running your hardware out of its designed specs. However you can take steps to ensure a relatively safe and stable overclock. Reading up on how to overclock your hardware is essential. Know what you're doing b4 going out and do it :)

Then you'll probably need the following things:
1. Good overclocking motherboard
2. Good RAM if you intend to run 1:1
3. 3rd party cooling solution
4. Patience

Good Luck

Not every amd will be the same during manufacture so its pot luck if you can farther than a review or not get anywhere near.
Get a good case and a water cooling solution for getting the cpu to its max, remember more clock, more voltage = more heat. :D
