I have an Asus G60VX and the GPU reads around 90C during load, but this is after about an hour and a half or so of gaming.

Is there anything I can do to decrease the temps?

I've read that cooling pads and changing the thermal paste on the GPU works, but how would I do the thermal paste swap? I've applied thermal paste on desktop CPUs, but that's about it. No experience taking notebooks apart.

Tried rivatuner and ntune, but they don't let me speed up the fan?

Anything that would let me change that?

Thanks for any help in advance.

You would indeed have to take the machine apart to get at the card. On my asus G50-VT its right under the panel for the HDDs so it wasnt that bad for myself.

If you're looking for a good take apart guide, look on notebookreviews.com forum, thats where I got mine.

getting to it shouldn't be that difficult...

hmmm, is it me or is there only 1 fan for both CPU and GPU heatpipes?

Apologies for the sorta stupid question, but where would the chip I place the new thermal paste be in the above picture?

Its called a unsink design, most notebooks do it that way from what I've seen.

Generaly what you want to do is unscrew everything, and remove the whole unisink, including processor and gfx card, that way you can get to everything easily. You can just unscrew it off the graphics card (lower left, with all that copper over it) but be careful not bend the sink.

sorry, I got accustomed to the laptops of the company I work for, which have separate sinks for the cpu and gpu...

have u ever trying to make some air under it while u game so it can get air better and also get rid of the air?

if u don't have a laptop cooler than try two books one under each side see if that will help on ur heating problem.
