I wonder if they're actually going to have a benefit over Ripjaws, or just the fancy design...

Actually they are 7-10-10-28, but is irrelevant, since at that speed blows all the charts anyways.

Also the CR is 1T, so I'm guessing those are kinda the fastest you can find on the market.

I purchased some of the last generation snipers because they have a lower profile heat spreader than the ripjaws. Also the black PCB with blue heat spreader really matches my motherboard

Easily, g.skill already sells better kits than these. This stuff is second rate compared to the F3-17000CL8D and F3-17000CL7D kits. And good luck finding a golden chip and board that will support CL6 at 2133.

I was referring to the DDR3-2300Mhz ones, but probably the 2133 have identical timings except the CL...

Although, considering the price range of G.Skill I think they are permitted to sell cheaper chips with as much they can tweak them up. I think even while G.Skill products tend to to further their attempt is 10 times more than most.

I dunno about Sandybridge just yet, but both my 1156 chips on asus boards have no problem with CL6. A few boards will corrupt your OS, but my cpus are retail, so there must be others that can do it as well.

Only 178mhz bclk is required for 2133 on i7 chips. 2133 is selectable divider on Sandbridge, too.

So, I think it's more BIOS dependant rather than having anything to do with silicon.
