Hi there,
First the CPU question:
Now I've got a PII 955 (C3), clocked it to ~4GHz. So I've searched the web and found out that people running at 4GHz need to have their Vcore around 1.45 - 1.55 Volt, but now I test my CPU at 4GHz with stock Volt (1.375) and have been running Prime95 for about an hour now with no error (Will test it in 2 hours+). Temperature is 37C IDLE and 56 LOAD, using Overdrive status monitor.
I had it at 3.8GHz stock volt with no problems.
So IF my CPU don't crash, should it stay at standard volt, or do i get more performance if i add a little more? (This do sound weird, but good to know.)

Settings in BIOS:
Multiplier: 20
FSB: 201
HT link: 2000
NB frequency: 2600
CPU volt: 1.375
NB volt: 1.25

Is this setting good?

Then the GPU question:
I have the 6950 and want to unlock it, but I don't want to destroy it. So could I unlock with 6970 Bios, decrease the volt to 1.1 (I think that was standard 6950 volt) and have stock clocks (800/1250) but have 1536 shaders..
Would that work, if anyone have tried that?

Sorry if I had some "dumb" questions, but I want my things to work as best it can. ;)

Simple question to answer your question.

Do you think you need the extra performance?

In no way can you destroy your card if you're running a reference 2GB card with Dual BIOS by unlocking the shaders or flashing your card.

are you at stock voltage, or AUTO voltage? auto boosts it up on many boards these days, as you OC the CPU and may well be pushing it higher than it needs to be.

It's not on auto, i did set it at NORMAL in bios wich is 1.375, and in CPU-Z and Overdrive it says it runs in 1.375 and I've disabled C1E and Cool n Quiet.

I have the 2GB Sapphire 6950, if i change the bios and it fails i know i can change back.. But is it usual that tha card get permanent damage?

i have no idea on the 6950 stuff, i just wanted to check that one fact, since its unusual to get such high clocks at stock volts.

Ah, ok.
Yeah i agree to that, cause i read everywhere that i need higher volt with this speed. But maybe im lucky..

Put your voltages at Auto, don't ever use Normal.

And you should think about getting a better heatsink.
