We've seen some really nice pics posted by some members of their vmods on X8?0 cards.
So I created this thread to have a vmod collection for those who wish to post pics. A link will be added in the X800 / Non Pro / XL / X850 Vmod Article... link

Post rules:
Card type and manufactor
2 Pics only
list parts used

I modded my X800XL from Club3D in the best way I could.

On the first pic you see the voltmod mounted on the card

And on the second pic you see the modification to the mod which made the mod switchable while working.

Ofcourse the full mod report can be found here:

http://forums.techpowerup.com/showpost.php?p=19732&postcount=208

And the modded mod here:

http://forums.techpowerup.com/showpost.php?p=20177&postcount=218

In the mean time I installed my home built watercooling and some nice big ass heavy copper ram sinks :D

Result? about 500/600 core/mem...

ViperJohn Modded Asus X850-XT

Bios 113-A47401-101 dated 11/08/04 Shows up as X850-XT PE with stock clocks 540/590

Vcore = 1.680 @ Windows Desktop
Vcore = 1.660 @ Loaded Max Droop
Vdd = 2.300
Vddq = 2.250

Not much to actually see on this card. Mod is also 100% reversable. It has a Custom Danger Den WB w/extender, Temp Sensor directly on GPU w/Front Panel LCD Readout. John's NTSB with his Watercooling KIT (Ram heatsinks with Active Coolers).

Last benchmark produced 7287 3DMark05. Just got the card so Im still tweaking.

Yeah even the stickers that were on the card (P/N, S/N, etc) were heated off by John and placed in a plastic bag. I have pics of the card so if we decide to go back to the stock form in case of a RMA or something we can put the stickers back in the right place. John does that so the card can be returned to stock, and he doesn't muck the stickers up. Very thoughtful and professional. I guess I could take a pic of my sticker bag. Wanna see that? just kidding. nobody wants to see that Im sure.

ATI: "Did you ever overclock your card?"
You: "Pssh, overclock? Never!"
ATI: "Oh, is that why its all black and crispy?"

Lol.

True, True. Hey go to my pics page, see the heatsinks on the X850? Homemade using mr. hacksaw. not exactly soldering iron type mod but hey... I have always liked the way John's cards looked, and wanted one; Big deal.

BTW the mods that everyone has presented here look really awesome. Takes a lot of guts to take a soldering iron to a $$$ card. Hats off to everyone.

So, did the mods again. But my wires are a bit to long.. I will fix the wires and isolate the mods soon, for a better looking. ;)
