GIGABYTE, a leading manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards, is proud to extend its Aivia peripheral series with M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse. The first product from GIGABYTE's highly anticipated Aivia series, Aivia K8100 Gaming Keyboard, has recently received prestigious red dot design award. The second product to be launched under Aivia, M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse, is the world's first wireless gaming mouse to guarantee 100-hour nonstop gaming experience. Plus, it also consists of a wide range of state-of-the-art features, including two-second quick-swap battery system (patent pending), multi-functional charging dock, twin-eye gaming-grade laser engine, and GHOST macro engine technology.

Aivia - Advanced, Intuitive, and Versatile Interface Archetype
Adding to the already popular gaming device, GIGABYTE first announced its brand new Aivia product line at 2010 Computex. Aivia, an integrated acronymic word, is derived from its key features - advanced, intuitive, and versatile interface archetype. The series is to emphasize the combination of the subconscious, design and function as well as the pursuit of archetype. GIGABYTE believes each mouse and keyboard are the scrupulous work of mankind's brainpower. Aivia is not only an extension to the human intellect, but also an intuitive extension to the use of artificial intelligence. For that reason, Aivia can also be interpreted as the AI via GIGABYTE.

M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse Features
  • 100-hour Battery Life: Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse has long lasting battery that guarantees 100-hour nonstop gaming experience. Continuous battery life of over 50hrs for a single Li-ion battery. An extra battery ensures a 100-hour nonstop gaming experience.
  • Two-second Quick-swap Battery System: QSBS (quick swap battery changing system) technology is GIGABYTE's unique design. This patent pending technology allows for Instant battery changing under 2 seconds, as fast as gun clip loading and unloading.
  • Dual Mode Functionality: Wireless mode gives freedom for gaming. Wired mode provides extra fast charging capabilities as well as enabling editing the onboard macros.
  • Multi-functional Charging Dock: Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse comes with an instant charging dock, served as mouse and Li-ion battery charger as well as wireless receiver unit. This device helps you enjoy gaming with wireless transmission speed at 1000Hz polling rate. The powerful wireless reception ensures no signal is lost that every single move made by the mouse is read during game playing.
  • Twin-eye Gaming-grade Laser Engine: Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse features twin-eye gaming-grade laser engine. Based on advanced laser technology, the twin-eye gaming sensor features high precision, low power, and ultra-fast performance.
  • GHOST Macro Engine Technology: When Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse is connected to its complimentary wire, it is able to edit GIGABYTE's GHOST Macro Engine. GHOST Macro Engine is an incredible macro editing software for the memorized macros to be carried around even if the mouse is connected to a different computer. 32KB onboard memory enables up to 5 programmable profile settings. The engine features critically acclaimed easy-to-use drag-and-drop operating system, DPI switching, tilt-wheel speed adjustment, and customizable color hues as profile indicators.

It joins the ranks of other hybrid mice like the Razer Mamba & my Microsoft Sidewinder X8.
LOL, it looks like a tyre tread on the mousewheel to direct sweat away and prevent aqua planing, LOL!

I can see it now... playing an online FPs and "... oh hang on guys gotta re-load my mouse. (5 sec later) K back."

looks like a pretty sweet mouse. would be perfect for those with both a gaming desktop and a gaming laptop... leave the cable for you desktop and use the batteries for on the go (leaving the rf module on the laptop)

this may be my next mouse

Only 2 side buttons? I'll pass. Needs to have 4 under the thumb minimum. ;)
