Hey guys, hope you can help!

Im a bit of a World of Warcraft geek, and ive just fitted the XFX ATI RADEON HD 5850 gfx card to my computer;

Processor: AMD Phenom 9750 X4 2.4GHz
Memory: 8GB (4 x 2GB) 800MHz RAM (i added the 4 extra gig)
HD Capacity: 640GB
Graphics Card: XFX ATI RADEON HD 5850 1GB GDDR5
Operating System: Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Air Cooled CPU Thermal Solution
750W Power Supply

What i'd like some help please is 1) Would this be good enough to run WoW on ultra settings and 2) If not, what is bottle-necking my gfx (only playing on high settings at the moment to improve FPS).. I dont have much experiance in this, but would have thought that that gfx was up to the task :S

Cheers in advance guys :)

im currently playing on 1600x900.

and ref CPU, ok, what would be the minimal upgrade that id need and be compatible with what i have? also, and this probably has no relavance, but it never uses more than 50% of its capabilities even when im running mutliple programs such as FRAPS etc...

What is your motherboard? Have you considered upgrading the CPU/Mobo/RAM combo? Where do you live?

i live in UK, east anglia. i have considered it, but would need to research the compability issues with what i got. i mean, if i could jsut upgrade the CPU and keep my mobo id rather that, as then i wouldnt have to worry about the extra ram etc ive already added. it may not be an issue, but im not a true geek, i just like to play around a bit lol

Could I have the exact model of your motherboard? if you could just stick a 1055t or 1090t inside it, it would be great and easy

although reading the reviews on the 1055t/1090t seems like they fit most if not all amd 700 series equipment. so could be good!!

Although, in non-nerd english :p why is my current CPU struggling with wow gfx? with the new gfx i got in there?

2.4Ghz is a low clock, and Phenom I's weren't great. Maybe WOW is a little CPU dependant as well? TBH your system SHOULD run WOW fine, but if it doesn't, a CPU upgrade couldn't hurt. This will also make your system go through time without a problem CPU-wise.

Wow is cpu dependant, with a reasonable graphics card needed to enable all the prettys as well. I hate it when people say, "well i used to run Wow on a pentium 4 with whatever crapo graphics card and it run fine...."

Newsflash people, Wow has recieved various graphical updates now and can even do DX11!! OP, do yourself a favour and get at least a phenom II quad if not a hexacore.

And a little tip for you, turn shadows one notch down from ultra for a big boost in framerates without major image loss.

EDIT - Whereabouts in east anglia are you bro? Could be fairly local to myself :)

if your motherboard socket is AM2+, i'd get the Phenom II X4 975, take two tokes, and enjoy
