If your from Europe your European, if your from Africa your African, if your from Canada, well then you don't know what race is apparently..lol.....
Get it? Ethnicity. Do I need to spell it out? How many Asians you know born in America that act like they were born in China? They act "completely" different.

That's not ironic btw. I think you need to look up the definition of irony.. It's not like I'm looking for a knife and all I can find are 10,000 spoons.. Regardless the point is valid.. It's an ethnically racist comment.. So hold that nonsense down please..
Wow a Canadian talking crap about an American.. You guys can't even drive cars..lol.. Nothing I dread more than seeing a Quebec license plate in front of me..
If your gonna dish it out, I may as well return the serve.. :nutkick:

PS: why you think they call it "The American race" ?

Lol posting to say nothing other than "trolling" is trolling... If that ain't the pot callin the kettle black..

Point is Sony had it coming. Their security was sub par and they got slapped for it.. Hopefully they'll realize people don't like watching their credit card info get stolen now and do something about it.. if no one had sued, the point wouldn't sink in.. It's like disciplining a child, if you don't do it, they never think they did anything wrong..

I am laughing, SO hard right now. Thank you sir, you actually made my day.

It's true. I confess, I slide around on ice allllllllllllll day long and I live in an igloo. Oh, I'm also from Quebec, that's why it says New Brunswick in my location info.

You're silly, American isn't a race.

I love Americans.

Back on topic! I'm pretty sure Sony will be compensating users with something, maybe a free mini game or something? Are they rebuilding the system from the ground up? It's probably a good idea.

Yeah, the mounties! The horse backed police force (because we don't drive vehicles).

I am aching to buy some stuff on the PSN but I don't know if I'll buy from them anymore, I've never used my credit card, only my girlfriends (lol) but I might consider buying the PSX Classics I want off ebay for a bit more. Meh, dunno.

I've noticed the email account I used for PSN has me resigning in daily, where it used to keep me logged in for days if not weeks at a time. I guess they are trying to see if my passwords are the same or similar- they are not.

What email providers, if any, provide you notification if your account has multiple failed entry attempts?

Another reason I wont buy a Sony product. I heard people bitching on the Mortal Kombat forums that PSN was down last week but no one knew why. Finally heard about this the other day.

In the wider online world, the shift to digital distribution looks unstoppable. “Because of the better margins and lower risk as compared to physical distribution, digital distribution is here to stay and grow,” says Theo Bergquist, CEO of PC distribution platform Gamers Gate. “I don’t think it will have any impact on our or Steam’s [the leading digital distribution platform for PC games with more than 25 million registered users] business. In fact you could argue that people with both PC and PlayStation at home will use the PC more while they’re waiting for Sony to fix the bug.”

its what i've been doing for the last week and a half since the network went down. i needs my Granturismo 5 !!!:(

They have hacked steam. Numerous times. PC community expects it.

what planet do you live on? whenever steam goes down people cry like little girls. people should not expect an online service to ever go down. it is an ONLINE service. what we should expect is for it to always be online.

To an extent you should always be aware that such a network of that magnitude will go down for whatever reason at some point, it is true that ''online'' means that it should be accessible, but at some point inevitably whether it be hacked or down for solely maintenance purposes, it will go down at some point in it's life span. Hence whining about it being down is pointless.

Ive been using Steam years and haven't witnessed such a large outage as PSN, though i am sure if similar happens on Steam everyone would be whining and complaining that Valve is incompetent. So i agree.

Same shit different network.

i agree. but the minute people start accepting that online services will go down time and again then we are setting ourselves up for even more acceptable downtime. you see, we should always expect the service to be online and accessible and should be angry when it goes down. that will compel the companies with online services to take extra care of their network.

Easy Rhinos just mad he can't stream his Dora the Explorer on Netflix.

hey that was between me and you!

Shit like this makes me concerned about the kernel-level access of Securom. I think I'd like to see Steam finally triumph as the only alternative, not that it's free of faults. It concerns me that we have too much information in too many online accounts (EA Store, Games for Windows, Steam, Relic...), it concerns me even more when Sony, one of the greatest exponents and suppliers of didgitally distributed software, closed distribution systems (consoles) and online security measures (read hassle needlessly placed before customers, if you wish) subsequently proves incapable of protecting the data in its care.

Perhaps more government control of the manner in which the companies store and manipulate our personal data? Some form of standardisation. legislation, scrutiny...? Sorry, I seem to be going off on a tangent, again, I just see the irony of Sony, no-other-OS-on-our-consoles Sony, Securom-Sony, failing to protect the personal data that it fought so long to isolate and control. Isn't that the essence of distribution via console?

ARRRGGHHHHH!

Yes, what I just did was annoying. You are suggesting that the government, guilty of more security flaws than any corporation I know (definitely in the US and pretty much everywhere else on the planet), take over and rule over an independent company. Can I buy weed from your hook-up? Apparently that stuff is so strong I would have to worry.

All flaming aside, yes Sony is guilty of not securing the data properly. They are guilty of screwing over their customer base so hard that it's a running gag in the circles that I travel in. What they aren't is subject to some bureaucrat's whims and stupid rules. The people who become politicians can hardly decide upon who needs to apply jurisdiction to any number of cases.

I hate Sony. I will not hide that fact. I believe they are stupid on so many levels that it is hard to see them existing in 10 years. What you are suggesting is that the one body with less inteligence and more corruption oversee them... What????

Within reason, we all hate DRM. Getting the government involved will only exascerbate the situation. Yes, Sony needs better security. No, the government shouldn't be allowed to touch this. If people hurt Sony's bottom line then Sony will change. Nothing like money to get a company motivated.

I use a pre paid o2 card for online stuff, it dont matter if they get the detils for that as there is only money on it when i need to use it, not that i had a ps3 though.

I can see the popularity of pre paid cards going up.

Personally i dont think they got any no.s, i think its just idiots scare mongering, or trolling to generate sony hatred.

There is no American race. Its a culture. Not a race. You are why I support pro-choice.

The American race is a statement. For you to be so infantile as to not just understand that everyone knows the difference between skin color and have to make some big, ridiculous point about it. Well that speaks for it's self..
I'm actually going to just take the high road on this and walk away and remove my insult, as 2 wrongs don't make a right.
Can we get back on topic now?
