New system configuration advice

I need to build a new system for office use. It is going to be used for Word and excel and an accounting software called tally. Planning to install windows XP. It just needs to be stable and smooth.
I need suggestions for cpu+mobo combo as cheap as possible. (Budget is like Rs. 5k for both together)
Ram I'm thinking 1Gb should do.

Recommended Hardware Requirements for Tally 9
Pentium 4 and above or equivalent
256 MB RAM
Minimum Disk Space: 40 MB
Operating System Software: Microsoft Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP

Tl;dr: CPU+ Mobo for using MS office

Is the correct conversion to US Dollars something like $111?

If so, these should bring you in under budget.

It doesn't convert directly like that but the prices are more or less the same. Won't the intel graphics slow down the performance over ati chips?

For office applications, the onboard video will do the job nicely.

If you need a stand alone card for some other reason, the board will also support that.

Go this route if you would like an AMD build. $75 instead of the $90 Intel build.

EDIT: note that this AMD board uses DDR3 memory though, so you will pay more for that.Better Option AMD MB w/ DDR2 memory

Took an athlon x2 250 with GA-M68MT-S2P(NVIDIA® GeForce 7025/nForce 630a chipset)
2GB of DDR3 1333 Mhz RAM (Transcend).

athlon fit into the budget. Celron and Sempron were a 1000 bucks cheaper.

yea ram is weird like that. new stuff comes out and its high for a while, then as everyone makes it you end up with more supply then demand, and the price drops, while they stop making as much of the other type and price goes up b/c ppl still need it and haven't upgraded their other components. its an endless cycle

Because it's ruled by cartels, which by definition arrange prices to their liking.
