Hey all. I'm thinking of uypgrading my Studio Hybrid into a mini behemoth. I remember reasearching it when I bought it, and I'm sure that you could get a Core2 Quad for it. Dell's site doesn't have detailed specs for it as they do older systems, but apparently it uses a Socket 478 and has the GM965 chipset.

Do you think I could find a Core2 Quad for it that would work well with it's power supply and thermal design?

Dell Studio Hybrid is a laptop correct? Would be nice if you can list some of the current specs on it.

If it really is Socket 478 then it should work with Q9xxx series mobile quad core, but check the compatibility first since the quad cores have TDP of 45W.

Actually, it's a hybrid system. Laptop parts in a small form factor desktop case. PSU is rated at 65w.

2.GHz Pentium Dual-Core
2GB DDR2 800MHz
250GB 5,400RPM HDD
Intel GM965 Chipset
