Sell the CPU, board, and ram and buy a FM1 board, A8 APU, and DDR3 ram if possible to do with in the budget.

I would say 6790/6770/5770. With a no-name PSU, an old C2D, 2GB of RAM and XP, a 6850 would probably be overkill and burn up that PSU if it's a really bad brand.

Yeah I do think so as well. The brand of the PSU is not even searchable in the net. My PSU is:
Zero Power 600W PSU.

Thanks for the time and sharing some feedback. Yeah, I think I'll settle for 6770.

Thank you very much!

Just a hint that the 6770 is just a re-named/branded 5770 if you find any cheaper than the 6770

What is the E number on the PSU if it has one? Should be an E and then 6 digits. If it has one, then you'll be able to tell who built it and get an idea of the quality.

take a pic of the side sticker on the psu, it lists all the amp specs. (i think its ironic its called "zero power"). as for best video card, for any dx9 game try finding a 9800gt used somewhere, or new... some stores in the usa still sell them new. or, if you plan on upgrading to win7 (or find a nifty DX11 hack for xp, if it exists) then go with a 6770/5770/6850/5850 or gtx460/gts450/gtx550ti/gtx560 non ti.

also, a cheap cpu upgrade would be to get an aftermarket cooler and overclock that E7200 to a 1333fsb (333 bus speed), should bring you to 3.16ghz from 2.53ghz. some AS5 and a $30usd ish cooler would do. most "tower" style coolers with a 92mm fan should be ok. had a similar one on a pent D 820. overclocked from 2.8ghz to 3.5ghz and it ran cooler than it did at stock speed with the stock fan.

also a note, if you decide to upgrade to 4gb ram (i'm assuming ur running 2x 1gb) winxp won't be able to fully use all 4gb. if you went with 2x2gb you'd get dual channel and have 4gb for when you upgrade to win7. or, you can keep 1 1gb stick and replace the other with a 2gb (if you do this make sure the timings for the 2gb stick match the 1gb stick and same speed). this option will be cheaper, but you wont be in dual channel mode, however I haven't seen that big of a performance hit with this option, at least not with pc's of your specs. I'm sure higher end stuff would see a difference.

I think you could do all of the above for around 200ish. $40 for the cooler, $40-45 for a single 2gb stick, and a used gpu at the performance level of a 9800GT for around $100-$125. should get you by until you get a new rig. heck a 9600GT did just fine for me with the rest of my pc spec (see over to the left) and i played starcraft 2, crysis, borderlands, modern warfare 2, etc on high-very high settings. most at 1280x1024. at 4xAA/AF, crysis w/o AA/AF (btw if you want to just get by with a lower spec card, a GT430 is on par with 9600gt performance and should handle any dx9 game fine as well, and will run on as low as 300w psu. if you get one get one with 128bit memory. can be had for less than $75usd. it'll run circles around that 8500gt you had, which had 16shaders, 8rops. the GT430 has 96shaders, 16rops., actually looks like its 3,300 in ur price list for the GT430)

Yea......18A on 12V. That sounds like my 400w Corsair. Only difference is that it can't do 600w combined on the 3.3v plus 5v!

That sounds like a old Pentium D/Socket A PSU if I've ever seen one.

A Corsair 400W I would expect to deal with a 5770/6770. I'd be real hesitant with that unit he has.

edit: is there another website that has other options for PSU? Most all the ones they list are really designed for much older motherboards (Pentium D/K6).

You may want to change you PSU first. I have never heard of Zeno Power before so I'm guessing it is generic and it may not have the proper power connectors for high end cards and it might blow up taking some, if not all, other parts of your computer.

You said that you want to play games like Crysis 2 maxed out but I do not think you will be able to achieve it with your CPU and amount of RAM. You can just sell your system and invest more money and do a new build.

I am also a Filipino. I suggest you buy from these stores: Dynaquestpc, PCnetmiles, PCHub and other trusted stores.

I have personally ordered items from Dynaquestpc and they have excellent service. I have confirmed my purchase around 9AM and the items arrived around 4PM on the same day.

i wouldn't worry about the psu with the GT430. nVidia has it listed as only drawing up to 49watts of power, / by 12 and thats about 4amps needed on the 12v. that and nvidia only has a 300watt psu listed as a requirement.

and i think the GT440 would be closer to the 9600gt than the gt430 and is only slightly more. uses 65w (~5.5A) according to this page > http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gt-440-us.html and only needs a 300watt psu, your current psu should be fine

If power is the problem then perhaps a nice choice would then be the HD5670 which will beat the GT430/440 in performance and has pretty low power consumption for the performance it delivers (average load: 45-47W; Max load: 62-66W); the HD5670 in fact performs similar to a Geforce 8800gt/9800gt. If you can find the HD6670 it will be even better since it will even have a better performance (thanks to more shader units: 480, instead of HD5670's 400) and a even lower power consumption (average load: 42W; Max: 58W).

Otherwise, upgrade the PSU and consider the HD6770 or Geforce GTX 550ti which will pretty much let you play almost every game with mid/high settings.

Thanks for all the feedback and for the time for checking my PSU's specs. Sorry for the very low quality photos.

My PSU is actually new, it just replaced my "under-warranty-from-shop" Techwill (w/c is obviously based on reviews is actually a very defective PSU). Just had this Zeno Power for about a month now.

I'm going to choose any of the following GPUs right now:
HD5770 -7,500
HD6770 -6,350
HD6850 -8,990
HD5850 -????? estimated ... 7,300
GTX460 -????? 768MB/1GB ... estimated 7,000
GTX550 -6,500

I'm going by the price right now (which means I'll go w/ 6770 ... then consider other GPU just in case 6770 is out of stock now). The only problem is the PSU.

By buying any of those GPU + 1x2GB of RAM, I will have a remaining of about Php2,000 ($45)
So w/c of these PSU would give me a best deal? (Antec looks promising on reviews but it lacks 1 PCIe 6pin if I'm going to buy a 5850.

I had high hopes thinking that it would shipped to Davao City. :(
Only limited in some places in Metro Manila only. If I had any family members / relatives who lives in the area available for delivery, I will tell them to purchase here. Thanks a lot!

Meh, I would choose the HD6770.

For the PSU, I would go with the FSP. FSP has good reputation with their PSUs. With it, you've also got a little headroom with the wattage.

Check this out first: PSUCalc

I would suggest that your system load should not exceed 80% of the wattage of the PSU you would choose.

Yeah, according to here, they indeed deliver to provincial areas. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

As much as I would like to use this site: PSUCalc, I don't know what to enter

I'm already set w/ the GPU. My friends also tell me to OC my CPU. Would I do that and also buy a new Cooler??

When looking at the PSU sticker, just make sure you have about 25-30 amps (300-360 watts) on the 12V line. If it is multiple lines, then make sure the combined amperage/wattage is in that range.

You will not need much more then that with what you're running.
