Valve seems to be caching in on the console gamer market. No need for anyone to rage wuite yet, CS 1.6 and CS:S will still be out and supported. They're just giving the console guys a glimpse of what a good FPS game looks like.

Game will probably be fun, but have built in aimbot/autoaim for the consolers.
I bet it won't take long for the hackers to unlock that feature on PC.

i wouldn't worry about the no recoil guys... its a source game. someone will add a recoil mod. and you don't have to unlock autoaim... its in the menu, at least on CS Source it was... last time i played

Yeah sad to see CS degrade to this.

Well, quite frankly the recoil used in CS:S was so ridiculously idiotic i'm not going to miss it at all.

Go shoot some serious hardware and see if you think the same. I'm a pretty big guy and a desert eagle with heavy rounds does kick like a mule, as does a 9mm smg. And after shooting hundreds of rounds you learn to not choke the shit out of pistols to try and tame the recoil.

I'm excited, I used to play the shit out of CS:S and a few others.

It's sad to see that the best FPS PC game returns as a downgraded console game. In fact I'm disappointed in Valve taking this turn...

I wonder if they will hop in the bandwagon of 'Right Click = Aim Scope Down' trend. Or will it remain classic right click = alternate fire / aim sniper down.

One of the headlining features was no Iron Sights--classic aiming mechanics only. Which is good, because CS would be ruined by that.

IMO CS was the BEST at its time. even tho quake was fun and the game used its engine, original CS brought a whole new generation of shooter to the table.

Yes BC2 has killer graphics and very nice game play but games such as CS/quake made FPS online what it is today.

I know how recoil works and there is no way you can make just 1 hit when you discharge entire 30 round clip at distance of 1-2m at someone starting to aim at the guts. Because that's how much CS:S registers. 1 hit. Where every rifle could make at least 5-10 hits before the recoil would go so far that you'd be shooting over targets head. Also representation of recoil is very bad. Usually the gun and the view physically moves upwards. Where in CS:S, recoil is in effect while your gun is still being pointed to the target. Stupid much?
