Crossfire not working

Hi, i just realised that one of my 2 EAH 5770 isnt being used by the PC at all.
ran it on gpu-z and it shows 0 % load, fan speed at 30% and doesnt change even in game and even when the other card is at 80% and 70C.
Dont know how long this has been going on, got this pc a little over a year ago.
One thing i remember is loading speeds for BFBC2 suddenly doubled several months ago and i couldnt figure out why, though i remember now i did at some point install some new drivers (truth be told without really knowing what i was doing) to get some game to work. I think the 2 might be related.
Can anyone help?
GPU-Z says crossfire is enabled, although one card isnt used at all.
Can you tell me if uninstalling all drivers and reinstalling proper ones would fix the problem?
Ive also been getting extremely high temps (up to 100C this summer, fried a power supply)
this is a screen while having SC2 in background:
you can see all load is on primary, and CCC only displays 1 card in the drop down list

As you can see here GPU-z does detect crossifre running and both cards are in the dropdown menu:

this is a custom desktop and ill be contacting the builder soon to try and have this fixed, but if i can manage to fix it on my own it would be better.
thanks in advance for any help.

Mir, try this to be sure if its working or not. Right click the ATI CCC icon in the system tray and go to the first card in the drop down and enable to show crossfire , then when crossfire is working it will show an icon in your game in one of the corners it will show the ATI symbol or maybe its AMD now.

Oh yeah that to because crossfire will NOT work windowed...ALso in the CCC overdrive section is an area to set default fan speeds.

first of all thanks for all the replies!! youve been extremely helpful especially considering im a newbie here.

secondly ive done as you said and rightclicked on the ATI system tray, and it does display both video cards, i selected the first and told it to show the icon, launched BFBC2 and the icon is visible, also ran techpowerup Z while in game and i see second card is running too, though at slightly lower temps and usage.
i guess i was worried for nothing and ill just have to be careful in keeping low temp.
The fact that temperatures here in rome touch 40°C was probably a contributing factor to the power supply getting cooked.

ive opened the case now and put a fan on the side, will also vaccum the inside sometime before BF3 comes out so hopefully i can play my 15 hours non stop a day without the PC catching on fire for the month ill have left before going into basic training :)
thanks again for all the help! Amazing community.

Even though the problem is solved, I just wanted to say that your graphics cards don't really have much to do with the actual game loading, so if your loading times have slowed down it could be due to other factors such as ssd, hdd, other apps running or recently installed, settings changes, etc. Just didn't want you to keep thinking something that is false.
