Need to open a stripped screw

I need to get my optical disk drive out, but 2 of the 4 screws that hold it to my Antec 1200 are stripped pretty bad. What are my options?

I'd prefer a solution that doesn't need a drill for the simple fact that I don't have one easily available.
Would super-gluing a screwdriver to the screw work?

The screws are not only stripped but also screwed in pretty tight.
They don't have a head large enough for pliers to get a grip.

Maybe, try getting a small flat head screwdriver into one of the slots on the screw, at an angle.

Then tap the screwdriver with a small hammer, in an anticlockwise direction.

EDIT: Or you could use a hacksaw blade to cut a new slot, in the head of the screw, for the screwdriver to fit into.

The first method doesn't work. The head is too badly stripped.

I want to avoid a hacksaw since it will scratch the case pretty bad.

You would need a small hacksaw blade to do it, and remove the blade from the saw.

If not, then getting the lend of a drill may be your best bet...

Just slide a knife under the head and apply pressure upward and back it out with a screw driver

Otherwise its the dremel tool

If it the head insert that is stripped then cut a slot in it with a Dremel tool

Yeah that some times works with the knife and as for the dremel hell that works for sure. But it be a good idea to strip the system before doing that due to metal flying every were. Even better if the dremel has a speed control too.

O for gods sake. Yank that SOB out. And those extractors do need a hole to stick it in which would require a drill. But even so there to big for that screw. The smallest bolt they would work on would be a 1/4-20

get a file and file a slot for the flathead screw driver its quite easy
