So, recently (~ 2 weeks ago) I got a Corsair Survivor 8GB (it was refurbished but that didn't really bother me). I converted it to FAT32 (I believe) after someone helped me out here on TPU. I didn't use it for anything for a while but on Thursday I went to college and they have a special system on it which disables me from installing software on your computer/account so I wanted to get a portable Chrome version. Once I got it all sorted, my USB just kind of went dead and stopped showing in My Computer so I didn't think much of it and pulled it out, stuck it back in and bam, it doesn't respond. The blue light on it flashes occasionally but other than that, it's just not responding in My Computer or anywhere else. Again, didn't really think much but then I tried it on several PC's and all of them responded the same way. So today I tested it at home and it's the exact same.

What to do? :3

cmon there has to be something more than just giving up and buying a new USB stick.

try a different USB port

problem with USB sticks is that's they're so simple there is very little you can do to them

you could try heating it up to a high temp (dead graphics card)/cooling it down to a really low temp(dead hard drive), but i honestly don't know what the results of that would be in a usb stick

anyway isn't a 8GB USB stick like £5 to replace?

Yes do that as it might be under warranty still.. I have had my issue's with some USB flash drives latly like with the Patriot XPorter XT were having it in your pocket and end up bending the part that plugs in to the system which in turning making it faulty. Kinda embarrassing to be honest even more so if your out to fix some ones computer.

Commonly there is just 2 solder points keeping them from bending and if there not don't right or like the XT is flawed by design as the connector slides in to the USB cap and not like others were the cap connects to the casing.

So now i will only buy ones that the connector retracts back in tot he casing.

RMA is a option for you hopefully and hopefully you wont get the issue with the same drive as it's probably going cost like $4-$5 to get it returned.
