Hello,

I tried to flash my GPU with ATI Winflash, but it got stuck and I didn't see anything around it anymore, but I was like very sleepy, so I went to sleep and then when I woke up and looked at it again it was still stuck on that point. So I rebooted the PC :banghead:

Then, I didn't see anything on the screen anymore and heard beeps, then it reboots again and I could login to Windows blind and I have _now_ managed to access the computer via TeamViewer and I want to reflash the GPU of course, but the resolution is on 640x480 now and the ATI Winflash program requires at least 800x600.

I can not change the resolution at all, it's stuck on 640x480, please help :respect:

Then I would have to do it blind and I'm not too sure about that

You can do it using spare low end graphic card. And i think you could force higher resolution using Display Settings. Or if you want, try installing LogMeIn instead of TeamViewer and see if you can go beyond VGA resolution.

I don't have a spare GPU, but I'll try LogMeIn.

So I tried blind flashing, first I disconnected all hard drives, DVD drive and USB device.

So I believe that's all and then I boot the PC, it beeps because there is no video of course, then it reboots or something I think and I keep pressing F8 and it goes beeping again and I keep pressing, then if it doesn't beep anymore I press enter or so and enter atiflash -p -f 0 bios.bin and atiflash -p -f 1 bios.bin. But it didn't work?

Is F8 right? Asus P5K SE/EPU is the motherboard model.

Edit: I couldn't change Display Settings btw, it's really stuck.

Bump.

I got a low-end GPU now and when I start my computer with both the 'bricked' GPU and the low-end one I still hear the beeps and see nothing, but when I take the 'bricked' one there are no beeps and the video works.

Edit: What if the BIOS file is just not correct, anyone can link me to a working one for the Sapphire Vapor-X 5870 OC 1GB?

I can now flash with atiflash, but afterwards it still didn't work. Anyone have the original BIOS file?

Thanks for the help, it seems to work again. (I didn't save the BIOS I think, but if it works now, it's not a problem, right?)

But when I see this, I wonder how is this possible and how can I fix it?

That looks correct. You are looking at the idle mem and core states. I don't know why it defaults to that clock state (even if you are not in idle state, it will display those clocks).

So that program is basically useless?

no - check show current clocks - select the clock you want to tweak and go. But I like MSI AB way better.

Where do I disable power play?

in MSIAfterburner.cfg the line which says something like 'UnoficialOverclocking = 1' change it to 2, so the power play willl be disabled and gpu will not be throttled back.
