I could probably build that same system for about $300 less. If he's just an entry to middle level gamer this system will be alright in my opinion

I was going to build for him but he really really wants one....plus I think he may feel better with the warranty.....It didnt look all that bad for mid level gaming....He loves Company of Heroes and wants to play that with good graphics....

Boy Track...you have really good info there....I will surely pay attention to you ;)

That PC is a joke. You can play Company of Heroes well on a 7600 GS. You cant use a 7600 GS on the "case PSU". You cant use AMD CPUs.. beacause they suck.

 :wtf: are you saying it suck lol cuz theres if one :D

No, I'm saying it's as good as none. The 7600 series is OK but not that good!! Can't get many games to run in good detail with that thing. Better off with duel's or a 7800/7900 series, or ATI 1800 & ^!! :toast:

see post 11, Warranty's are up to 36 months on quality components. Most prebuilt's are only 12.:toast:

Ahhhh....thanks Namslas!

Any thoughts on how that card compares to an ATI Radeon 9800XT....that is what I have and COH runs well on it....then I can compare "qualitatively" I guess.

Appreciate the help!

The 9800XT is a good card for that genneration. However we are now on the cusp of a new genneration. Therefore in order to get the most out of a new build you should upgrade to a newer genneration card, so it may support the games of the future. Remember the industry is in the midst of changing to DX10 and the older genneration cards won't be able to support DX10.

Both Nvidea and ATI are in the beginning stages of new card development. Nvidia just released the 8800 series, and ATI is next with their R600 GPU cards. The 8800 series so far has proven to be good, but not the improvement people were looking for. ATI"s last genneration X1950 series cards can almost keep up with the 8800 series, with Nvidea beating them out by 30-40 points in most benchmark apps.

The 7600 is a genneration ahead of the 9800 so compairsons aren't fair. Check out the Video card threads here @ TPU, lots of good info and even links to compairisions.

The 9800 is a genneration behind the 7XXX series same as X1XX series from ATI.
I will try to locate one of those threads for you, or maybe others can help?

Thanks Namslas....I did some comparisons on some websites and It shows that the 9800 is rated higher...I guess because it was based upon the gen old vs gen new.....

I guess his system will be ok for now....he just called but I am avoiding the call til I can get some more info....LOL

BTW....I just ignore Track.....

At least upgrade the power supply and possibly the vid card. If he insists on going prebuilt, that's an OK system. It won't be tops in anything, tho. I still say it's better to build.

I was an idiot for buying a 7600 GS vid card. I regret it (but not so much) since I can go back to the older games I played and turn the settings high to max with little slow downs.

The card can barely handle F.E.A.R.

Thanks guys....he did a price check on the Egg today and (i have not confirmed this) that the Egg prices were $60 more than that. So I am a bit confused as to why it is a rip off for him?

Well I took the 15 min and compared the prices and by pricing the parts individually off of New Egg...and having to fudge a couple of things as I couldnt know the exact item....with shipping from the Eggo it comes down to within 100 bucks less at the egg than having it made and shipped for him.

So it actually isnt such a bad deal for the guy....he does not want to build it himself (with hekp of course....LOL)....

PyroInc....$300.00 less huh?....from where?
