Hi guys, I've been out of the PC gaming scene for a LONG time, I'm talking maybe like almost 2 years since I last actually knew anything about hardware specifically

I've been looking at videos of BF3 and it looks amazing, so I really wanna get it

I know these days that SSDs are really beneficial when it comes to gaming, so I want to get a cheap SSD to help me on BF3 as my system isn't that great CPU-wise, but I'm not looking to upgrade my CPU as it's too much hassle

I'm currently on XP, and BF3 requires Vista/Windows 7 as a minimum as far as I know due to being only DX10/11... so obviously I'm gonna go for Windows 7

And no point upgrading to Windows 7 on an old ratty hard drive which sounds so clunky and horrible it's probably gonna die soon anyway

So bearing in mind I live in the UK, and don't have that big of a budget (under £100 please, and under like £80 if possible!) can anybody recommend me a good (acceptable) SSD for gaming?

As far as other specs go, I'm bustin a GTX460 1GB, 4GB ram and an E8400 @ 4GHz stable (well... it's a Xeon E3110 but they're basically E8400's but with higher thresholds)

Thanks! :D

You can get a Crucial M4 64GB at around £83.57. That looks to be the cheapest price though. From other e-tailers they have it at £88-£89.

Yea...faster loading times...they don't actually help in any other way do they?

Thanks for your help so far guys :)

How would my system cope with Battlefield 3 does anybody know? I'm thinking about 1280x1024... my current setup is as follows, but this is what I've got it hooked up to at the moment:

But PC gaming is just impossible on a screen so big, so I'm gonna swap back to my smaller 19 inch screen ^_^

So how will BF3 run at that smaller res?

Yea...faster loading times...they don't actually help in any other way do they?

I would have thought it would help with a few FPS due to being faster at reading game files as they're coming while playing?

Wrong...after the files are copied to ram as far as I know the hard disk doesn't do much anymore.

Oh okay well even so, my hard drives are all knackered anyway so I guess it can't do any harm :)

Anyway does anybody have any idea about my specs and BF3?
