Problem with screen after installing Gtx560 DcII

I just installed the card and everything is fine except when I start my pc, the screen is kind of distorted as if no gpu drivers were installed, only after the screen comes to the desktop, everything is fine as it should be, games are ok as well. What could be the problem? Specs: W7, cpu Amd phenom II x4, monitor 1440x900.

Could you explain better cause right now I have the feeling you are talking about the resolution at the BIOS screen which really can't be changed since there are no drivers loaded then. Its up to your monitor to scale that image. Now maybe it ain't what you asked at all, but this is what I understood.

Yes thats pretty much what I meant. Bios screen resolution is weird, its definitely not native monitor resolution.

Let me take a guess, you are using another connector that the previous card didn't use? like vga/dvi and now hdmi? I've seen different connectors give different results, now that I think bout it.

BIOS is, always has been and always will be low-res. Designed to be as basic as possible. YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT. Period.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that there are black 1cm thick stripes on the top and on the right side on the screen and a message "input not supported". This dissapears as soon as the desktop appears.

Have you tried playing around with the desktop resolution and refresh rate? Windows usually just detects the correct resolution after the graphics drivers are installed (sometimes even before that), but sometimes it buggers up and selects a resolution that's slightly off - maybe it's set too high for your screen?

He's talking about the BIOS. Not the Windows desktop.

I know it sounds trivial but maybe press auto adjust on your screen?
