A bunch of 470's that're crippled by stock clocks of 600 Mhz, but can outdo a 480 once OC'ed to 800-850.

Staying with these till I can afford a few 3 GB 580's.

Also got a reference 6970... best built GPU I've ever had. Dual Volterra Digital PWM for regulation. Wish AMD's drivers (especially for CF) were just as good. :eek:

I have a 465 collecting dust and waiting to be sold, an Old Club3D All-In-Wonder Radeon 9200SE on my old Desktop. Let's just skip on the countless intel GMAs I've passed through.

Voted on the 8 series... I'm using an 8800GT 512MB OEM that came out of an HP, its currently folding at about 4500ppd. Got an ATI X300 in my laptop.

I'd wait and shoot for the new 560 Ti (built on 570 PCB). If that counts.

IMO (from a guy who had 2 superclocked 4870s in crossfire) switching to a single overclocked 5850 will give you the same performance as 2 4870s with much much less power draw and DX11 support.

I recommend one of them or a 5870 if you can get them cheap enough. If they are too expensive then look for something around a GTX460/470 the 460 and the 5850 were literally head to head though some would say the 5850 was the overall champion between the 2.

Have a think about that anyway. a secondhand 5850 should be pretty cheap now. Id recommend staying away from the cutdown 5850 Xtreme cards, but they are still 5850's with 2 inches lopped off their mansized nuts. you will struggle to get a good overclock out of them -speaking from personal experience.

Would probably be cheaper to get a couple 560TIs and overclock haha, or even the 448core version.
