it's about time, for those who wanted to buy a pc or parts where screwed hard

before the flooding i bought a 2tb western digital black, it was with shiping 128eu, now it's is 225eu without shipping

If you wanted to buy an HDD you had to the very first days before the official announcement from WD because some of the retailers didn't adjust the price by then.
Now you just have to wait some time unless it's REALLY needed

Basically, all the prices pretty much doubled.

and in some cases being tripled

the samsung f4 was $70-80 and had rocketed up to $240 on newegg. it is now down to $200

Yep, it has made it so bad that I have to pretty much give the HDDs away at cost just to get the business, I still make some money on labor, but I used to make a profit on the HDD too. If I tried to make some money on the HDD it would push the price of the repair to the point that the customer would rather just buy a new machine.

I guess you're still making a profit then, otherwise it just wouldn't be worth it.

Maybe they will drop prices to those 600GB Velociraptors?? I still prefer those over an SSD due to their over 5 years+ reliability compared to SSDs :rolleyes:

If you know how to treat and look after and SSD properly, it will last a lot longer then 5years unless its due to hardware failure.

Ill take a 120GB SSD for Windows and apps, and dual Raptors in raid 0 for games plz.
