New gaming system

I have some extra cash saved for new desktop configuration . Let s say my budget is around 1400-1500$ .I've visited many hardware shops looking for configuration and now Im very confused what exactly I want. Can you guys give me a advice(example) for a gaming config. Thx !

He pretty much hit the nail on the head already but for some RAM brands I would look at Corsair Vengeance/Kingston Hyper X and make sure you have a good case and cpu cooler to keep your setup cool while you are gaming.

If the rig is only for gaming go for the 2500K because 2600k's Hyperthreading won't do you much... the money you save in this way can go on a bigger SSD/GPU or even on a 120hz monitor that does wonders if you play FPS games, it's night and day difference from a 60hz

I would scratch that ssd, you dont realy need a ssd for gaming, and a liquid cooler is better then a air cooler.

The build you listed would have him using a 5400RPM HDD as the boot drive. Adding the SSD is a great choice, considering he has sufficient budget. Also, since you picked the H40, it's actually worse than the cooler I listed. The only advantage the H40 has is if you need clearance around the CPU socket. But since the fan for the radiator would be at max to even get near the 212 EVO's performance, they would just both equally be loud as well. You'd have to pick the H80 for a substantial difference in temperatures.

Pretty nice rig except for the HDD. I wouldn't recommend that as a good solo OS drive. It would work fine as long as you back up your data to another drive or an external setup.

Unless you are doing audio/video editing, CAD rendering or stuff like that, i5-2500k all the way.

OK you PM'd me that about after a year or so you may want to do some overclocking. Then I agree with most users here with the 2500k. Was going to say:

i5 2400
Biostar or Asrock H67
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance

Then choose your gpu along with psu and budget out the rest of your system.
