Hello I don't know how to find out which video cards are going to be compatible with my system. Are there any sites i can go to to find this information out? Because I have a Gateway GT5238E system and i go to gateway for help and they just want to sell what they have they wont tell me what video cards are compatible. My motherboard is Intel® (Love Valley G) G965 Can someone please give me a website that tells me the video cards that would work on it or can someone tell me what pretty good video cards work on that s ystem?

depends if you have a pcie slot or agp slot, but every video card should be compatible with your system, namslas has a x1900xtx in his gateway(he had to mod it a bit to get it in there because of the capacitors being in the way) and i had a 7600gt in my old gateway

You should be able to run most pcie cards then. Although with the uber cards you might not have enough powersupply. Also if your thinking of going with x1900 or x1950, you're power supply needs a pcie plug, i know my x1900 didnt have an adapter and fry's didnt either. Im not sure they even make 1. Just post what card you're thinking of and we'll tell you if it's a good fit with your system. Oh yeah, you should probably check how much room you have because some of these cards are pretty long.

Actually I just found out that I need to upgrade my power supply. I just bought this computer but its only a 300w power supply.. And the card thats compatible that i wanna get which was the NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600GS needs a minimum 350w power supply with 20 amps come from the 12v. So I'm gonna get a 500w power supply from gateway. Plus i think i need more power because i recently installed the Sound Blaster Audigy in my system and I notice my computer has been shutting down by itself once in a while so i think i need more power anyway, Once i get that new power supply im going to go for the NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600GS
