Video card overclocking

I have been out of the vid card clocking game for too long and was wondering is msi afterburner still what everyone uses?
Is there a better program out?

It is still a damn good ocing program. Support almost anything, and you can edit fan profile, unlock voltage control, and MANY more option.

Really good all around software. That and gpu-z and you're good to go!

If i'm not mistaken about the HD5850 only the reference models could modify the voltage, my Sapphire Toxic HD5850 don't let me change the voltage or clocks with Afterburner, i had to use AMDgpuclock. But for my other cards i use AB, i just move the slider to wahtever position i like i that's it the cards is OC or downclocked.

Then use Amd gpuclock tool, no limits there, that's what i used back when i had the HD5850 in my primary rig, maybe there is something more convenient now.

MSI AfterBurner is for MSI cards, adn additioal features on other brands are unsupported.



There's also Sapphire Trixx.

are you talking about the Catalyst Control Center, because i'm not, AMD gpuclocktool is a different app i doubt it had any limits because you can put wahtever you want. At least that was how it worked for me ver. 0.9.26.0

I have used msi afterburner before with this card but now it dont work.

If barbaricSoul's guide doesn't work, you can mod the BIOS using RBE for voltage, and then use the RacerX CCC mod for higher clocks. For me, this is hte best way, as it requires no additional software be running when gaming.


BIOS voltage control works great on 5-series cards.

When I go to the regestry its already set to 1 and the one above it is set to 1 also.
It worked before after changing it to 1 but its never been set to 1 already this is a new install of windows also.
