Intel is reportedly working on a new Atom "Cedar View" processor model for low-power static computing devices such as entry-level PCs and nettops, the Atom D2550. This new model retains most of the specifications of the Atom D2500. Its two x86 cores are still clocked at 1.86 GHz, featuring HyperThreading technoloy, 512 KB L2 cache per core, even the TDP stays at 10W. The D2550, however, brings slightly faster integrated graphics. Its graphics core is clocked at 640 MHz, compared to 400 MHz on the D2500. Intel will be taking orders for the new chip from ODMs starting some time in March.

At least cedar view has decent display resolutions unlike the previous Atom. The "faster graphics" are not going to make the Atom 3D capable in any decent way, but will help improve the user experience when running a high resolution desktop such as 1920x1200 or 2560x1600.

Intel Atom CPU's = EPIC FAIL!!!!

Last gen cant even play a bloody HD video. The flatmates EEEpc can't play a video that his eos550d shoots... The EEEpc can do 17 FPS max, that just unwatchable. But both of our HTC Sensations play the same HD video with NO problems.

So good luck to Intel. they have a long ass way to catch up with Nshittya i mean Nvidia & AMD to be able to play HD with out lag.

decent resolution and also possible digital video output

Upping GPU clock on Intel chips never really maked much of a difference...

It does in this case, as it enabled Blu-ray and other high bit-rate HD content to be played back, since the GPU (a PowerVR SGX540) actually offloads the CPU when you're watching HD content. How much this will matter for consumers is a different matter.

Given the Atoms leave a bit to be desired those "Nshittya" (haha, great joke) CPU's won't run Windows. Quite a different market.
