Citing company policy, Electronic Arts has announced it will be ending online server support for over a dozen titles.

The list includes Burnout Revenge, The Godfather II and EA Sports MMA.

Having come to market in late 2010, MMA is less than two years old. It also used EA's Online Pass service, a mechanic EA has gone to in hopes of protecting profits against the used game market.

This wave of server closings are the first to affect titles featuring the Online Pass initiative.

The company's reasoning for the closures:

The decisions to retire older EA games are never easy. The development teams and operational staff pour their hearts into these games almost as much as the customers playing them and it is hard to see one retired. But as games get replaced with newer titles, the number of players still enjoying the older games dwindles to a level — fewer than 1% of all peak online players across all EA titles — where it’s no longer feasible to continue the behind-the-scenes work involved with keeping these games up and running. We would rather our hard-working engineering and IT staff focus on keeping a positive experience for the other 99% of customers playing our more popular games. We hope you have gotten many hours of enjoyment out of the games and we appreciate your ongoing patronage.

And the full list of the games' affected:

They should allow private servers once they shut their servers down for good.

Must them games in the list are Died Titles from Consoles that Snooty Nose kids would not Play anymore, E.A Games are the evil we all love and hate.
I just got the game Battefiled 1942 for the p.c last week and was Surprised to see that game Servers still up and running after 10 years when that game come out.
Activision with there F.E.A.R combat game was out in 2005 and I was playing that game last week
Its a Graveyard of Severs was about 100 plus up and running and only about two severs had about 18 players on them MAX that must cost Activision some cash keep them still going.
For a Died faranchise.
But looking at it like that it keeps the players still Intersted in the game and keeps them,
Ceen for more Future Releases of that game in the Future

Hamachi works.. But since this is mostly for consoles I don't think Hamachi will work. Also, since it's for consoles I don't really care.
