Is it possible unlock another quad of pipes?

That card also can't be unlocked to something more than 8 pipes. Probably it could hides R480 which is very good overclocker. Try the core max. overclock with ATITool and if you figure out that it can reach 480-500MHz then return here. If it is capable of only 420-450MHz then it is R430 and you can't do more to improve the performance.

Obviously your core isn't the best specimen (R480). With the present Vcore (you have to measure it) 1.3-1.4V? that is the limit. If you want more then you need voltmod of the core voltage. 1.45V should be OK for that core.

the point is : how much power (watts) can a pci-ex16 slot transfer to the video card ?? what is the limit ?


I forgot to mention , the GPU is cooled BY a modified Titanium socket A cooler !!(d5tb) alluminium!! so the heat is no problem there !!

PCI-E could supply app. 70W. With 12 pipes it is absolutely enough.

Help yourself using the bad experiance of W1zzard: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=24507 (see the link in the first post).
You have the very same situation just the names are different. And use X800PRO, XT BIOS for AGP and flash adapter 1 not 0.

its a Palit Daytona core/memo 400/350 , i succesfully oc'ed it to 533/440,
it hase some Hynix 2.8ns Gddr 256mb memory
it has 12 pipes active , no bios flash would work ,but what about a hardmod ?? ,how can i know that a hardmod would work ,or where are those lasercuts , someone pls explain
what should i look for i want to hardmod ,and how can i do the hardmod !!!
oh and does it worth it considering that i have no power connector on the card !!

No more pipes for that core. R480, R430 can't be hardmoded.

thats what everest says about it, ati tool agrees.

I've been trying to oc it but it wont get pased 420 MHz and generally ati tool crashes the video card. Is there a bios i could use to oc it better ?

I have a Sapphire X800 GTO AGP 256 with R430 modded to 16pp.

I tried my best but if i try more than 456/567 my screen gets black after a while playing or artifact scanning in atitool.
I dont think this is the maximum of my card, because I have a 350W crap power supply and 2 DVD, 2 harddrives and some pretty fans for my 1700+...
theres no temperature problem, the max is 65° after some hours "full load".
The power supply has 16A at 12V which makes 192W.
What do you say? would a better power supply help?

It will unlock. If your card is AGP then use that: http://savefile.com/projects/971168 but please read carefully the flash instructions file .

Sorry, the gpu begins to smell at 519.xxMHz. For mem, 540MHz. was okay. (566.95core max. and 634.47mem max.!!) So high is so bad for the lifetime of the card...

Well, after freaking out by using the wrong flas at first, I used the ver1. and got it to 16 pipes (thank you!). Is there a better bios that will work with ver.1? (like a modified x800xl)? Thanks again, your help is wonderful.
