Here is the first picture of EVGA GeForce GTX 680. The best-selling GeForce AIC partner in the US, EVGA, opted for a minimalist sticker design, while sticking to NVIDIA reference board and cooler designs. In fact, all GeForce GTX 680 launched in the first-wave, do. Speaking of first-wave, TechnoReviews managed to screengrab American Retailer Newegg.com listing out nearly all the GeForce GTX 680 models that will be available on launch of the SKU.

The listing confirms the US $499 (before taxes) pricing of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680, because that's how low these cards are available for; they will never price it below NVIDIA-recommended MSRP. Newegg.com applying a $10 margin is quite natural, they've done it with pretty much every major graphics card market-launch this year, including that of the Radeon HD 7900 series. Assuming the GeForce GTX 680 beats Radeon HD 7970, as NVIDIA claims, our educated guess is it still won't start a "price-war" as such. AMD might recalibrate prices of HD 7900 series down 5~10%, but AMD and NVIDIA won't be able to drive prices below a threshold, and that threshold is governed by TSMC, its ability to ship 28 nm chips in volumes big enough, and at prices low enough, to support a price-war between the two GPU giants.

When will we see reviews? i am not willing to trust some random leaked results, i want reviews from multiple sites to compare to each other before i get excited enough to consider buying.

GK110 please, hope amd see a gtx700 range this year too (dose of their own medicine....)

Unless AMD brings out the 8970 in the same time frame, which i hope they do as competition is good, even if the 780 thrashes the 8970 it may help value on the AMD side at least which is important as lack of competition i think is playing a role in the 7970 price which then seams to have negatively effected the 680s price screwing us all no matter what brand we choose. :(

They ruined their current series with unrealistic prices. These cards just don't offer enough "new" for the money they are demanding.

It may be mid-range, but it´s still the fastest GFX you can buy.

It's not mid range. Name a single gpu Nvidia card faster than the GTX 680? Like i said in a previous post, if it is their FASTEST and most Advanced chip available IT IS THEIR HIGH END CHIP.

Your comment and that of those that parrot it is ill informed, illogical and ignorant of market factors and product development.

Like I said, name a faster Nvidia single gpu card? You can't because this is THE top end card.

just ignore them, they ask too much for what they can bargain,

beside, it will be absurd if you bought a buggati veyron and some trolls saying that you just bought a mid range car..

I would remind the release of 6870, it was a disaster for AMD. AMD after that disaster made a quick strategy change and released the 6970 as a top model.

Until yesterday all sites on net, talked about for a mid-range card from Nvidia. But today gk104 is introduced as 680. As we look the past releases we could say is the high-end single gpu card. But real question is; is it? Can we have single high-end gpu named 690? Anything is possible.

But Nvidia's rumors started with mid-range and ended high-end and also they made a great gpu against his opponent. And today we have that truth:

Nvidia, started to sell mid-range gpu's for high-end after baptize it as 680.

In order to understand better I'll give you a clue:

It's a mid-range chip in a high-end card.

It is not only renamed as highend. It also performs like one. That would make GTX 580 low-end card. :p
