Best Cooler for 2500k

After looking at reviews for the Be Quiet Dark Rock Advanced, Zalman CNPS9900MAX, and the Corsair H60/H80, I'm at a loss for what cooler would be most effective for a 2500k. I'm looking for quietest, yet most thermally effective (I know that's a catch, but I'm looking for middle ground).

Other specs to consider:
Mobo: Asus Maximus V Gene
Case: Silverstone FT03

Noctua NH-D14?

Personnally, I have a CNPS10X Extreme, which I removed the stock fan, and put a xspc xinruilian 120mm 1650rpm, and it does a great job, silent (if at 1650 it's not enought, reduce speed via fanmate)

I have my i5 2500k @ 4.7ghz 1.32/1.34v 100% BOINC everyday, maxcore 67C while GPU running BETA WCG..

There's the Coolermaster TPC 812 that's coming out early next month. And the Phanteks dual-tower coolers that beat the Noctura NH-D14 while giving you color options.

Well I currently use a 212 EVO for my 2500K at 4.5ghz, can't hear it over my other fans (unless stress testing), but I would definitely recommend anything from Noctua, everyone's opinion on them seems to be great performance and great noise levels (if you don't mind funny coloured fans)

I've had very good results with the Corsair A70. Do some searching and you should be able to find it for a little over $30

Except these outperform it for more or less the same price, and give you color options; ($5 less on newegg for silver version, $5 more for colored)

I was looking at TR True Spirit 140. Seems decent, comes within couple of degrees of Archon yet costing half the price.

Nice cooler and should work well.

I beg to differ. One thing they are not is quiet.

Have you owened one? Just curious because I thought they were pretty quiet. Can always replace the fan(s).

I have a kuhler 620 which every reviewer says is much quieter than corsair h series. 620 is too loud for me. Nuf said.

The question is are you going to over clock and what are you looking for in 24/7 clocks?

I hope to get at least 4.6-5.0ghz on the Max V Gene.

These are all great suggestions, and I wish I could go with the phanteks, but my cooler limitation is 167mm :banghead:

Would these cause any problems with the stack effect cooling?

Other than needing low profile RAM? Not really to my knowledge, which is sadly limited to reviews, but the Phanteks coolers have beaten the Noctura in every review I've read.
