I hv dg41rq mobo and e5400 cpu. Today i overclock my e5400@3.0ghz(stock cooler) by using setfsb and run stress test (prime 95) and found my oc is stable. Under full load my cpu temp goes upto 80c .IS this temp harmful for my cpu or not

Probably in the long run yes. Try and stay under 70 if possible. Keep lowering the volts until it becomes unstable. Volts add alot of heat. Ultimatly u can get a new HSF.

Dont expect high overclocks - that board is a budget one. the average overclock on air is 3.66Ghz I dont think you will get close though, even if you do get a better cooler.

mine was a fantastic one!

^ Doesnt mean anything as the OP doesnt have a P5Q Turbo let alone a board which is capable of some real overclocking

Doesn't mean that he can't reach 3.5Ghz with a good cooler either...!

If he can or cant with a good cooler is irelivant, overclocking is done on the motherboard not the cooler. the cooler is merely just a tool or that helps when overclocking...a car is only as good as its driver so to speak.

If the board cant OC, then it doesnt matter if you put a good cooler on it or not, but i agree that it does serve to keep the noise and temperatures down compared to the stock cooler which im guessing the OP is currently running

Don't underestimate a G41 Mobo and 3.5 is not a big deal (by what I remember)!Going past 3.5 is a real pain.I mentioned the cooler cause low temps really help, especially on Woldale...this is my experience at least!
Should be mentioned that overall lifespan will be compromised and gain won't be that significant...
my advice keep it at 3.0 - 3.1 and you should be OK

remember you need to stress with prime95 for at least 8-10hrs minimum, 12 if you can.
