I am having intermittent internet access over the last 2 days. It will last a few hours to a few days. The modem is the isp given Motorola sb5101 surfboard cable modem. The following is what happens when the internet goes out. the receive, send, and online lights go out. Then the reveiving light will start blinking, sometimes for hours. Then once the modem is receiving the send light starts flashing, also sometimes for hours. Eventually they will come back on and I will have internet, sometimes for a few hours mostly about 15 minutes. If I try having windows diagnose the problem it says that it is a dns problem. I have repeatedly tried restarting the modem. I have changed dns's.
I am thinking my isp is giving me problems. No I have not called them. I havn't felt like dealing with their unknowledgable help staff.
