I find The Witcher 2 to be harder because the combat mechanics are clunky. Dark Souls is more polished however Dark Souls really takes it's toll mentally. it's easy to die because the game is unforgiving with mistakes you make. you need to learn every new enemies pattern and how to deal with them. death is a learning experience. there is no hand holding either for example there is no map, enemies will respawn and you can't pause the game.

I don't know what else I can say about Dark Souls that hasn't already been said.
