I played the first one stutter free with a SINGLE 5850. Hes telling you he played the second one stutter free with TWO 5850's. Sometimes if it quacks like a duck it doesn't mean its a horse.

Yea, I also played it on my 60gb SSD. That could have play in it as well. I mean he's got a gtx680 playing on 1tb 7200rpm drive.. I noticed stutters on rage and moved it over to my SSD and it fix that game. So maybe a 670 and a SSD would have been a better option for him and his stuttering problem...

Could be just that. Have you ran the steam defrag? The system defrag can cause stuttering also. But like I said I feel this is driver realted. To many NVIDIA guys with the same issue and no AMD guys.

If you haven't tried Barlow, shut down Steam then start it back up again to see if the game patches itself.

I have my steam on 3x WD 250GB in RAID 0and I push what ever game i'm playing over to my SSD. I'll try it on my mechanical drives first then move it over to my SSD and see if there is a difference. :toast:

The first ran much smoother, AC had and still has problems and that's a fact. To what degree these problems affect different cards or to what extent they are "repaired" with different drivers and patches is up to each personal experience with the game based on the hardware and software they use. Being an Nvidia supported game it should run better on NV hardware and according to reviews it does (no physX).

The reviews base everything off the built in bench. Mine ran fine too. No stutters with a 570. Its going into buildings I had an issue with. So does three other users according to this thread. Erocker didn't have the issue and hes on AMD. I know another guy who didn't have the issue either and hes also AMD. I'm not Dick Tracy but I think I see a pattern. :laugh:

Now we just gotta see if its driver related or HD related.

I also had a GTX 580, GTX 470 and a few GTX 460's. Didn't have the issue. I also used various Nvidia cards for PhysX while using various AMD cards, no issue. Actually I did have issues at first, but after the game was patched over a year ago, the issues were gone.

Don't use the beta. Try different drivers, preferably WHQL's and see if it works.

The beta is supposed to have better performance for adaptive vsync, which is why I use it.

As I have said, this is not a gamebreaker for me, I can play without. the object of my enquiry was to see if the issues I was experiencing were generic or unique, And it seems there are issues with different cards and drivers. the adaptive vsync is my priority at the moment, so rolling back my drivers in an attempt to solve an issue almost every nvidia user is experiencing is drastic imo.
