EK Water Blocks, premium water cooling gear provider, will soon be releasing a Full-Cover water block for MSI N680GTX Lightning premium graphics card.

The upcoming EK-FC680 GTX Lightning (abbrevated as 'LTG') water block will directly cool the GPU, RAM as well as VRM (voltage regulation module) as water will flow directly over these critical areas thus allowing the graphics card and it's VRM to remain stable under high overclocks. EK-FC680 GTX Lightning water block will also features a very high flow design therefore it could easily be used in liquid cooling systems using weaker water pumps.

Base of the water block will be made of nickel plated electrolytic copper while the top will be made of quality POM Acetal material. Up to four EK-FC680 GTX Lightning series water blocks could be interconnected with EK-FC Bridge & Link system. The correct connection link for this water block will - ofcourse - already be enclosed with the product.

The water block will be available for purchase through EK webshop by the end of September.

So its going to be 700-800 dollar single GTX680? Since the lightning is 600 bucks, and considering that this is a specialty block it is going to have a premium price. Hmm not sure if id not just get a 690 at that point.

I myself am quite happy with the fact that ekwb will be releasing this block. I am the proud owner of 2 of these gpu's.
But just to put your statement in perspective (i only know prices in € so i can only guess what it will be in usd) you are talking about 1 690 against 1 680lght. you are right that its a lot of money for 1 gpu, but you are forgetting the fact that a waterblock for 690's are premium-priced as well. with blocks included in the price you are talking about 750 vs 1250 usd. thus your arguments about buying a 690 for more bang for buck are quite invalid.

i think he is getting at even WITH a waterblock, at that price its more tempting to get a 690 WITHOUT a water block

You are correct if you assume that I am saying get a waterblock with the 690. I was saying just get a 690 on its own, and it is silent enough and will crush anything a single GTX680lighting can do. However if you are to add a waterblock it is probably going to run you about the same.

Point taken dear sir. I was indeed assuming you would include a block with a 690;).

I'm not sure how a third-party company like EK can help you with that.

ya I was referring to the MSI lightening being only 2GB.... but guess you were only one that didn't get that. :slap:
