Microsoft wants to leave no stone un-turned to establish Windows Store as a competitive online software and content distribution platform. According to a Gizmodo report, the company plans to revise its store policy to include rated-mature games and apps, leaving its definition to the buyers' imagination. For reference, Apple App Store has strict guidelines that govern "mature" content. Microsoft's move corrects a discrepancy between two game rating systems, ESRB of the US, and PEGI of Europe. While ESRB classifies 18+ games between "mature" (blood, gore, violence, bad language), and "adult" (porn), PEGI uses the broad classification of "PEGI-18." By Microsoft's own policy, it caused disqualification of ESRB Rated-M games.

If a game isn't Farmville or Angry Birds or that kind of stuff I consider it mature.

Will it be possible to actually buy Windows as a download on their store? I'm willing to buy it online through their webpage if the price would be lower because of the digital download. But so far they only offer some strupid upgrade. I don't want to upgrade, i want to install it clean.

I believe Windows 8 is going to fall in popularity like Zune did but this time with greater momentum and an ever lower low of the Capitalistic Era of computing. Microsoft is trying to tame a crowd that can't be tamed by forwarding their needs to a store in an OS. Do you think history is kind of repeating itself? To tell you the truth, I would only choose this kind of a system if their was a cross-platform for game consoles.

I hope this helps. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbpage.Windows_8_Pro Just click the download,You get a program that is 5.2 meg in size,It must be for purchase and reads the system for the upgrade.I could test it further for you under win7 (give me about 20 mins) ,But I`m pretty sure you can download an iso and use the key that came with it.Also $69.99 to upgrade and get retail box is pretty cheap. When you think it was $149 to do this before. As for the APPS and what not when you reach your metro look at the green store icon ,if it has a number showing ,it means the updates are for download.

update yeah it is the equivalent to the windows7 upgrade, where it reads your system for what can and can`t be upgraded.Well I`m sure you download a ISO.It has to be how on earth will you reinstall....Just as i thought,if you go the$39.99 they make you pay $14.99 for the dvd ,It would be easier to buy the $69.99 version. here is the small print on the store....

*Choosing “Start download” will redirect you to the Windows.com site where you can complete your download and purchase. You will have the choice to purchase a backup disc from that site for $14.99 as part of your download. So it still equals out to the $69.99 price.

Here is a pic under windows7 ....

All the info about the upgrade is here: http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/...07/02/upgrade-to-windows-8-pro-for-39-99.aspx

You can select a clean install, and you can create an iso for DVD or usb.

I like that thinking if windows 8 had the ability to emulate x-box games it would give me a pretty good reason to get the newfangled OS. However that would cut into x-box sales as we all know the drunken frat boy crowed would not be happy  . As for zune lay off man I pay $13 a month for it and has like a trillion songs, yes I may not "own" the songs, but I just plug my laptop into my car and away I go with more music then the music store itself, for $13 a month. I say vs $1 per songs like Itunes I would have given enough money to apple to lanuch the I-Pad 4, so thats how I look at it.

They announce this right after they said weren't going to carry any of it... Ya think some investors told them to stfu and take money?

I wonder how long it will be before you can't install noncertified apps? The app store is the 1st stepping stone. Although, you'd have to be an idiot to give 30% to these clowns.
