I'm wondering if anybody owns a dq6 and if so how high have you taken the fsb. I'd like to try to hit 500 fsb 1:1 on ram.

Nice system man. I think you can do it 4sure I´ve hit somthing like 470 but my ram stoped me from going higher. I have the ds-3 and I read of someone hitting 390 the other day it.

I think you might reach the max on your cpu though, can u lower the multi? ohwell just test it 5-10mhz at a time from 450fsb.

ps. dont forget to keep an eye on your cpu temp. 65c is the max!

Thanks. You've got a nice system too. I am stable at 475 fsb on 7 multi and ram 1:1. I've had my ram up to ddr2 1060 stable. Yeah multi can be changed 6-9. I tried 480 fsb and no boot. I'm wondering about fsb and mch over voltage, anybody tried that?

It's not recommended to run FSB in between ~360 and 399MHz on any i965P board because the memory controller runs at strap settings for 1066 at these FSBs yielding unstable MCH. Strap is a FSB-adjusted set of timings for the memory controller. User has no control over strap setting (on most boards).

Note that if you experience unstability below FSB400 you will likely be stable exactly at 400MHz and beyond.

Gigabyte DS-series boards will overvoltage vMCH automatically all the way upto +0.30V when FSB is set other than "AUTO".

So I would assume my dq6 will do that also. I'm at auto right now. So are you suggesting change mch voltage to plus +.30? Will higher mch voltage get me past 480 fsb?

No, i think he's saying it will automatically do it up to it's max which is .30 or .31 i'm pretty sure. From what i've read and experienced these brds crap out right around 480 (without modding the board). Theres allways exceptions to the rule but my board is not one of them.
